Fantastic American sparkler. 100% Chardonnay BdB. Toasty brioches notes showing off. Great acid and bubbles. Enjoyed this Feb 1 after 31 days of Dry Jan 2022.

Terrific as always, featuring primary notes of lemon, tangerine, and brioche, flanked by hints of almond and lively acidity. This continues to be one of the very best values in sparkling wine around the world.

It’s okay. Very heavy citrus fruit, pear, aromatic. Medium to long finish. Crisp, acidic. Nice fine bubbles. Doesn’t feel very balanced to me, though. No real complexity. Wanting some other flavors. Others mention almond and bread but I don’t taste that.

A parade of citrus fruits lead the way, flanked by bready and nutty notes throughout. Rounds into lemon curd form as it warms, with good minerality and laser acidity cutting like a knife. Another excellent sparkler from Schramsberg.

Onklers Champagne mai 21 (Anders): Nose with sweet spices, brioche, yellow apple and light yeast tones. Relatively high acidity. Taste of yellow apples, and with light citrus at the end. US BdB using the traditional method

Lemon, brioche, grannysmith apple, and dry minerality. The long lees aging (3 years?) is very obvious from the copious yeast/brioche notes on both the nose and palate. It’s quite a lean blanc de blancs with more intense acidity/lower dosage than I expected from a Brut. I figure this would improve from another twelve months in the bottle, but it’s a great aperitif right now. Especially at $30 from Costco!

A great Mothers' Day aperitif but also very food-friendly. Med straw, with nice perlage. Med (+) intensity green apple, ripe lemon, wet stone and a pleasant toast note from 2 yrs lees aging and only partial malo. Dry but generous, clean and crisp, with med (+) acidity, med alcohol. Med (+) flavor intensity, with a refreshing, clean and long finish. Drinking well now, with lots of potential if well cellared. I really like this style.

Very very smooth. Green apple but not bitingly so. Also got the pear and a bit of citrus zest, but what sets it apart for me is the long but not heavy buttery flourish. Really nicely balanced.

Like the 2016 this wine is well balanced and a "sweetish" sparkling wine. I get some of the brioche, but the flavors on the nose and in mouth are lemon and some grapefruit. The mouthfeel is crisp and the finish is drying.

Sharp, rich, lemony, mouthwatering, and effusive (for days, I might add). The bubbles are fluffy, not precise or seductive, but the fruit, balance, and crackery finish make up for that. For me, it's hard to find *any* wine -- let alone a non-Champagne sparkler -- that's much better at this price.

This may sound crazy, but I really enjoyed a glass of this with a fatty bacon cheeseburger. I had blended applewood smoked bacon into the burger meat and grilled. The sparking wine cut right through the fat and the saltiness, and balanced out all the burger was bringing. As unconventional as it might seem, I highly recommend.

Golden with super fine beads of rising bubbles. Palate is lemony acidic initially. But opens up in 30 minutes to show baked apples, pear, sweet corn, limestone. Acid is still there but well balanced with the fruit flavors. Awesome wine. Wasn’t sure if we’d like the newer vintage because we’ve been drinking ‘09s, which are more open and rich. But these 2017’s are rocking right now and pair even better with acidic food. Had with salsa verde chicken breasts and tortillas.

Just as fresh and energetic as the last bottle I opened on November 2nd. Green apples, limes, loquats, and fresh-baked bread. Smooth, textured, and layered with a lively bead, juicy cut, and sea spray minerality. Offers lots of drinking pleasure and excellent cellar potential.

This is in excellent form. Green apples, lime citrus, loquats, and fresh-baked bread display so much freshness, brightness, and intensity. Smoothly textured, almost weightless, with ocean spray minerality, and a laser beam of juicy acidity that slices through an infinite stream of tiny, pinpoint bubbles. As good as it is now it still has upside.

Pale golden yellow color with apple pastry, Meyer lemon, white flower and roasted hazelnut aromas. On the palate it light-bodied and dry with mouthwatering acidity and a creamy mousse with baked golden apple, quince paste, Meyer lemon, vanilla cinnamon and hazelnut flavors with a lengthy finish. A delicious and fruit forward sparkling wine that’s a charmer. 100% Chardonnay Fruit sourced from Napa (72%), Sonoma (27%) and Marin(1%) vinified with a combination of small lots of barrel fermented wine some of which complete malolactic fermentation and stainless steel fermented wines.
