Incredibly dense, but also incredibly fresh. Luscious and syrupy, but at the same time showing dried oranges, raisins, dried peaches. Coffee, chocolate and hazelnuts are there as well, but I was really surprised by his uplifted fruitiness. High alcohol, but well integrated.
A real pleasure.

Deep brown in the glass with amber edges, sweet but not cloying, rich mouthfeel with notes of dates, brown sugar, and creme brûlée, long lingering finish. Very nice.

Not a big fan of PX generally as it can be too sweet without the requisite acidity to balance it but this was different... Amber to brown in colour, coffee, toffee, walnut and hazelnut and emulsion paint on the nose (this is a compliment by the way ;-) and flavours of raisin, molasses, raisin skin and dried apricots and sweet grapey flavours at the end which leaves a relatively fresh finish. Very good.

Nose and palate of liquified raisins and candied nuts. Concentrated and viscous palate, warm and embracing. Well integrated alcohol. Not a complex wine, but certainly fun.

With Christmas pudding & ice cream - great combination. Had been recommended to JP. Feels thick and dense but the palate is lighter & more manageable than the promise, although it's still pretty intense. Raisins, dried figs, walnuts, salted caramel. Drank at room temperature and couldn't do more than a glass; would like to try again, chilled, which might bring out more balance? But very good as a dessert option.

Had by the glass, offered as a paring to liquid nitrogen made vanilla ice cream Dark brown in colour. Raisins, toffee, oxidative notes. Nutty. Dense and big on the palate, lots of sweetness here and unfortunately some harsh notes, raisins and oxidative notes again. Went well with the ice cream but that's about it. 85ish

Very sweet with toffee on the nose and raisin, fig and brown sugar on the palate. We paired this with a lightly sweet pumpkin souffle and it was fabulous.

On the nose are nutty and and sweet aromas of brown sugar and raisins, that carry on to the velvety palate with hints of spice and dark chocolate. The finish is long, and the wine has a nice balance of sweetness and freshness for a dessert wine. Very good with chocolate desserts or blue cheeses.

Dark brown, dense wine. Toffee/caramel aroma, not too sticky in texture but with the sweetness you would expect. Flavours present include plump raisin, fresh fig and salted caramel. A lovely wine to sip chilled and good value too. Not as serious as some PXs but no less enjoyable as a result.

Aiolos Tasting: (aiolos tasting) Thick brown color, candied grape, honey, dried palm nut and apricot. Very sweet in the mouth, grape jam, raisin, plum and overripe fig with medium to long aftertaste.

January Sherry & Rioja WIMPS (The Ledbury, London): Quick taste. Quite light. Far lighter than the other PXs, almost a little dilute. Slightly figgy, fruitier palate than the caramelised sugar richness i expected. 'PX-lite'. ***
