Much better than the last bottle that I had a couple of years ago. The oak are mellowed some, so that it is more in the background. Very nice acidity with waxy lemon flavors. Good finish. Not as good as Carbonnieux Blanc, but a pretty good Graves white for the price.

Tasted as part of a Bordeaux tasting. Light yellow color. Not overly aromatic on the nose but hints of lemon and baked apple with some minerality. Similar flavors on the palate along with some oak flavors. The acid level was a bit too low though so it made the wine feel clunky on the mouthfeel. My guess is that the wine was probably a year or so past its prime. Definitely drink up if you are holding any.

Drinking beautifully right now. Nice florals and light lemon on the nose. Nice balance of fruit (apple, lemon) and oak, more weighty than I expected--complemented tonights broiled cod perfectly.

Trip to Bordeaux; 8/9/2009-8/14/2009: (tasted in chateau Smith Haut Lafitte) This blend of 50% Semillon and 50% Sauvignon Blanc has spent 11 months in 50% new oak. It has a bright yellow color. It has a very flowery but not that complex nose. You can feel the oak in the wine and I think it covers all the fruit. It wil require a little bit of time in the bottle but I hardly think it will change much.

Crisp, white fruit with a spritz of lemon. Good weight and balance. Paired well with crab. A good alternative for those who want more body and a bit less citrus than a pure Sauvignon Blanc.

13%ETOH. nice golden color. aromas of fresh pineapple, quince, vanilla, oak, some pear and fig notes, with hints of dried goosberries. very chardonnay like. med. bodied with a nice creamy mouthfeel. has nice spicy fruit but feels a bit over-oaked and kind of flabby.

Full bodied white Bordeaux. Lots of wood evident in this wine but for some reason isn't obnoxious. Getting some hay, lemon, but mostly apple. Very creamy with great weight.

golden yellow hue - full bodied from the Semiilion. Apple and lemon nose. Very enjoyable and a nice match with a selection of cheeses. I think this will be a great wine to drink over the next couple of years.

Explosive nose - notes of tropical fruit with a liberal amount of oak. Rich and viscous on the palate with even more obvious oak - a little too much though. otherwise very good. The oak might subside after a couple more years. Still has a lot of life left

Every time I drink this wine I find a new aspect that jumps to my palate. Earlier times it was the honey and then the toast, this time it was the lemon peel.

As my 4/7/08 notes but more smoky, oaky, and toasty than I first recalled. Might just be the bottle. Still very creamy texture and love the honeyed finish! (CMS B+)

Light straw color. Nose of lilacs and green apples. No front attack, chalky pineapple, lemon, and bell pepper mid palate and a medium length alcoholic finish. This is at best a food wine, and mediocre at that.

Chilled, popped and poured. Deep yellow gold color that develops a fringe of yellow-orange on a swirl. Nose was tight at first but opened up after warming up a few minutes in the glass. Beautiful mead-like nose of honey and apples with hints of cream, smoke, and a floral component (identified as lilac by my fiancé). Strong, viscous, and full bodied on the palate. Its acidity gives the wine a nice backbone and the spicy oak tannins complement very well. Nice, complex palate that starts off sweet at the tip of the tongue, then moves to apples and cream on the mid palate, then the spicy tannins kick in, evolving to rich creamy honey on the back end as the acidity kicks in, and finally a hint of minerals on the very lengthy finish.
Overall a great full-bodied white wine that will go great with all seafood and light chicken, turkey, and pork dishes. The acidity will really complement savory dishes as well. Outsatnding wine for $22. If I had to guess at the blend I would say at least 40% Semillon because of the rich honey, with the balance obviously Sauvignon Blanc. A- (CMS)

Lemon and dandelions on the nose. There's also a bit of smoky wood there. I was surprised how much body this wine has! Rather complex. I taste some lemon which transitions to interesting cheese flavors...perhaps some blue cheese mixed with a smoked cheese. There are some apple components as well. Rather long finish that leaves a bit of a chalky feel and taste on the palate.

Nose: lemon peel, buttery toast, and minerality. Palate lemon honey upfront, then medium bodied oak on the tail end. Decent mouth feel and complexity. More of a food wine. Not really my style of white, but has nice complexity for the QPR.

Better than the '05 Bordeaux Blanc I had at last weekend. Tons of sweet Grapefruit, Grilled lemons + lemon peal which i enjoyed! I just don't love Bord. Blanc. Seems to lack complexity for me. Very well made, would buy again, good QPR, but not Super. Glad I have one more bottle, see how it develops...AMM

Note: I use a sale on which 85 represents a very good wine.
I like my white Bdx with some age on them, and this one delivered. Rich and flavorful. A little flabby, but not over the hill.
No need to hold.
