Fifth time tasting since Oct. 2022: About as good as zinfandel gets, if you like the fresh, fruity style. Lots of powerful red fruit aromas, slightly translucent ruby color, lots of sweet, mostly red fruit flavors with a long and slightly hot aftertaste. We'll drink our others in the next year before dipping into the 2020's. Ric

This and Turley Dusi are our favorite of all zins. This was tasted alongside the 2020 Dusi, which was darker ruby, more opaque, and had more of a red fruit style. This was ruby-garnet, slightly translucent. Powerful fresh strawberry- black raspberry aromas, with an acetic component. The aromas were quite closed the first night but opened considerably the second night, a consistent feature of many Turley zins. On the palate loads of fresh fruit, nice acidity, very round and drinkable. Perfect for our taste, will drink the rest over the next year, while waiting for the 2020's. Just a shade behind the Dusi, which I rated 100. Ric

More than 6 months since my last bottle and it's soft and chalky with beautiful fruit as the other bottle notes have described. Not much more to add with this bottle.....this fruit and this winemaking is just soooo good.

Blackberry, huckleberry, boysenberry, plum, Pine, underbrush, wasabi. Tight and young I would recommend a long decant at this stage. Full of jolly rancher characteristics.

Similar to previous bottle, but even a bit better: Young, vibrant, powerful, as usual with the zin from these old vines. This wine sang--blueberries and blackberries and bramble and depth.

At a Southern restaurant with Creole food. First of ten bottles of this vintage, still have a few 2018's to finish. This is our favorite of all zins. Bright ruby-garnet, slightly translucent. Powerful fresh strawberry-raspberry aromas, with an acetic component. On the palate loads of fresh fruit, nice acidity, very round and drinkable. Perfect for our taste, will drink the rest over the next year, while waiting for the 2020's. Ric

Young, vibrant, powerful, as usual with the zin from these old vines. A very warm day, so we had to chill it down to cellar temp (68ish), and then in really sang--blueberries and blackberries and bramble and depth.
Classic Turley Zin. I have had numerous Turley Zins over the years, but am not sure I have ever had a bottle from this particular vineyard. It is a great wine and drinking well despite its relatively young age. It is also complex......a lot going on.
We brought this bottle to Lutsen Lodge for dinner. We ordered the huge pork chop and had it split. Perfect pairing with a great wine. This wine is what we expect from Turley.
Dark ruby in color. Full, forward, & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of briary & earthy notes, spices, pepper, dried herbs, minerals & a hint of vanilla in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced, & smooth textured, lush, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blackberries and plums with spices, herbs & minerals. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing but has the capacity to continue its development with further aging.

Decanted for about 45 minutes. Juicy, sweet mouthfeel: Flavors of red raspberry hard candy and cranberry bread. Some savory notes along with blackberry bramble on the aftertaste. Lip smacking, very tasty.

Pre-trip dinner and binge of the last 7 episodes of Ozark.....pnp'd and enjoyed with great home made tacos....and episodes 8 thru 10. Then 11 thru 14. Took about 1 hour for the wine to come around after popping. Much like prior vintage, just the right amount of clove, spice box, cherry fruit. I did NOT get all the pepper of prior reviewer. Just a very normal, laid back amount as is the custom with this barrel treatment from Turley. Just a tad tart red cherry fruit at 3 hours of air and up to episode 9. Not the very best Ueberroth vintage, but not the worst, either. Chalky smooth mouth feel. Lots of character, nothing generic about this zin. Still one of my fav Turley vineyards.

Wow! This one has white pepper that overtakes all the fruit and juiciness one expects from Turley. There is some cherry in the middle, followed by more pepper. Not my kind of wine. Maybe as it sits for a while? Not trying my other bottle for a few years.

candied red fruit (cherry/strawberry) with a hint of spice on the finish. alc is high 15.9 abv. almost spiced christmas candy like. visual is opaque cranberry with a pink to clear rim. mouthfeel is medium minus and a pleasant long finish with the acidty driving the length. still young but oh so enjoyable.

Well rounded with dark berries and some spice, medium finish. Less robust than expected from a Turley Zinfandel, but too young. Better on day 2. Will become more complex over next 5+ years.

Typical Turley wine - Round, lots of berries from start to end with a touch of pepper middle to finish. This was better the longer I left it open. Next time I will wait 20 minutes before starting.

Medium body/finish. PnP. Brighter approach bramble, cherry, and citrus on the body.
