Red and black cherries, spice box and dried flowers shoot from the perfume. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, fresh and lively, with a brisk, spicy red berry, tea and olive finish. Drink from 2025-2040.

(49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 6.5% Petit Verdot, 2.5% Cabernet, Franc, 13.5% Alkohol) Dunkelfruchtige und kräuterig, angenehm tiefgründig und vielschichtig in der Nase. Der Gaumen ist straff, von mittlerem Körper, die knackige Frucht wird von feinmaschigem Gerbstoff und einer guten Säure gekontert, top Balance, mit viel Energie und einem feinwürzigen Finish. At a tasting of recently bottled 2020s. Has the softness of tannins, medium fruit and good length of finish characteristic of the vintage. A bit restrained on the nose. Will need more time than Cantemerle.

Typisch rustikal, sehr würzig mit extravaganter Blaubeer- und Veilchennote. Griffige Tannine. Nicht so geschliffen wie Poujeaux, dafür mit klassischer Würze. Gute Substanz. Feine Länge. 89-91

Tobacco, herbs, flowers and red fruits combine on the nose. On the medium-bodied palate, this classic styled wine delivers bright, fresh red fruits, soft tannins and a crisp, almost crunchy red berry finish. 88-90

Very ripe nose – a mix of blue/black/red fruits, but compact. Youthful and juicy. Fleshy palate, juicy and very supple – there is some chalky grip that builds and grows in intensity.

Feels considered, with lifted red fruits, a sense of ripeness punctuated by some sweet touches, again cool, fresh, and elegant. The palate has a richer fruit quality than the nose suggested, although tightly wound, and there is no little structure either. One to stow away for a few years (could then upscore).

Nose: Licorice, oak, earth, dusty cherries.
Palate: Big entry, but with a good balance. Dark berry notes and lots of oak. The oak feels a bit unintegrated at this stage.

Airoldi - Bordeaux En Primeur 2020 (Quay Restaurant, International Passenger Terminal, Sydney): Very slightly wild blackcurrant, cedar, slight graphite, sweet spice, slight plum. Juicy, wetly enjoyable, tannins are slightly floury textured, fruit persists (just about), slight alcohol warmth on the finish. Balanced in a wet way. Okay.
