Amsterdam UGCB Tasting (Zuiderkerk): The oak is quite spicy but the wine flows well across the palate, fragrant and generous, chalky tannins, very good resonance and length.

UGCB tasting-Amsterdam 2021 Bordeaux 03-04-2024: Smooth spices, a whiff of mint, modest fruit, a nice body and a juicy style. The lovely bitters and the ripe tannins give a balanced aftertaste. Also in red Pape Clement has made a switch to a more elegant and refined style.

Kräftiges Rubinrot. Die Nase zeigt krautige und dunkelfruchtige Aromen, ein Touch Holz, auch Haselnuss. Im Gaumen straff, mittelkräftiger Körper, markante Struktur, das Tannin ist markant, von sehr guter Qualität, der Wein baut Druck auf, bleibt dabei elegant und hallt im Abgang rotfruchtig nach, hinterlässt Himbeeren und einen Hauch von Blutorangen. UGC 2021 Bordeaux (Vibiana, Los Angeles, CA): The nose is seamless and wide open with complex tones of sour red berries, dark red cherries, raspberries, spice notes, crushed rocks, tobacco leather, leather, and violets. There is good layering at this young stage with excellent balance and poise. The Medium bodied feel carries through the balance of the nose while showing off medium acidity and silky, medium tannins. While the structure has some youth, it isn't overbearing nor is it too taught right now. Instead, it feels more for framing and doesn't come across as needing too many years to resolve itself.

UGC Bordeaux (Drake Hotel - Chicago IL): Walkaround tasting. Managing a sense of richness well balanced with firm tannins. Very good depth. While not a wine to drink in the next few years, don't put this in the back of the cellar, either.

Bordeaux 2021 Arrivage Tasting (Dolder Grand, Zurich): Singing with sweet spices and gingerbread. Leather earth and whiffs of pepper and floral top notes. On balance slightly lighter fruit profile of red cherry, raspberry and cranberry. Nice balance, soft tannin and texture, but rather light on the body and also a somewhat abrupt finish.

Deep and concentrated with a nose brimming with smoke, espresso, red plums and dark cherries, wet earth and a touch of chocolate ganache. Concentrated, but seemingly less so than in previous vintages, the wine is fresh, bright, chewy, long and almost reserved, until you get to all the vibrant red fruits, espresso and smoky cocoa in the finish. The harvest took place September 28 - October 14. Drink from 2025-2050. 94-96
