This will be a go-to sub $20 bottle. Not sure I’ve had a better one. Dark plumb, berry, spice, doesn’t taste manipulated. Had a very short decant period. Would like to try after a longer decant. Everyone enjoyed it.

Zin isn't my favorite grape ("jammy" wines are rarely what I look for), but this was very solid. Reminded me a bit of my favorite inexpensive Zins, Ridge Three Valleys and Bedrock Old Vine.
This really keeps the jammy quality in check, to the extent that my first blind guess was a $30-ish Cab Sauv from Washington (!)- really pretty dark blueberry, maybe often closer to blackcurrant, with a gentle dose of baking spice oak and little floral shades. Not ultra-expressive, but very pretty. Same on the palate, with really nice balance, not too hot or jammy at all. Pretty straightforward, but this is added to my list of better-quality Zin.

Clear medium ruby; clean medium plus nose of raspberry, blueberry, vanilla and musty wood; dry; medium plus acidity; medium tannins; medium plus alcohol; medium plus body; medium plus flavour intensity; palate is tarter with addition of cocoa; medium plus finish; drink now: fruit forward with well balanced alcohol; this wine continues to pleasantly surprise us in blind tastings - excellent QPR!

This was an OK, but solid wine. I didn't dislike it but I think I somehow had higher expectations. Dark fruit and plum but I missed the spicy zing I've come to expect from a nice Zinfandel. It's a decent everyday wine though

Found this to be a delicious and well made wine; ripe dark and blue fruits, light notes of asphalt and leather, great supporting acidity, ready to drink now as a young wine. Short to medium finish with good silky mouthfeel and body. Great "everyday" drinker. Love many of the Zins being produced on the west coast right now. Simple and satisfying wines. This is one.

Aromas of plum with some oak spice and vanilla. On the pallet nothing distinct is coming out just a simple unoffensive red wine. Balanced but lacking any complexity, short finish.

Medium minus aromas of blackberry compote, chocolate, rocket candy, raspberry, and cinnamon. Mouth-popping fruits that you think might overwhelm your Palate with ripe sweet fruits but settle quickly to become a juicy wine of blackberry, orange, sweet licorice, vanilla, and menthol. Long finish, chill this wine for optimal drinking. Fantastic with Cajun rice and beef.

Medium reddish garnet in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blackberries & plums with some spice notes, earthy/dusty, herbs, cocoa & minerals in the background. Medium bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blueberries & plums with spices, herbs, minerals & a hint of vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present and appears to be made for mid-term drink-ability, but should develop further with additional aging.

Just bought a case of this one......based on a 92 WS rating. It might not quite get to the 92 right now, but is still a fine value. I have had very good experiences with Seghesio Zinfandels over the years. This wine continues that trend. Classic Sonoma Zinfandel.

Seghesio was my go-to Zin for many years......not anymore. Quality has eroded over the years. It's still ok, classic zin notes, not overly jammy or hot, but fruit flavor is too heavy. It lacks smoothness that it used to have, and tastes somewhat disjointed.....hard to put my finger on it. I think $18 is too much to pay anymore.

Paid $18 at Costco and was not impressed, even considering the price. Very one dimensional with noticeable heat. Heavy dark fruits, it is obnoxiously singular. Like listening to The Ramones for hours (apologies to Ramones fans out there). Just not my thing and I don't think time in the bottle will make it much better.

Medium bodied Zinfandel, not super heavy or jammy, which I liked. Classic Zin aromas and flavors: cherry, plum, lot of raspberry, cinnamon. Did the standard pairing with BBQ (chicken) and it hit the mark. Very good QPR in my book.

On the nose- Big dark fruits, dark cherry, dark blueberry, dark blackberries, ripe plums, cassis, briary berries, berry pie, fig jam, baking spices, wild red flowers, black pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg.
On the palate- Big dark fruit and dark cherry, dark blueberries and dark blackberries, ripe plums and cassis, briary berry and berry pie, fig jam and baking spices, wild red flowers, black pepper and cinnamon with a hint of nutmeg on the finish. The tannins are smooth and a bit zesty. This wine is drinking KILLER fresh but needs about 30+ minutes open to really show its stuff. I see this being able to age another 5-7 years with no real problem.

Day 2: This is a solid wine to get those away from drinking Orin Swift and Prisoner. While there is some sweet fruit it has much more along with pepper, spice, floral and earth. Very nice improvement on day 2 and this is one of the better values from California. 91+ points Day 3: Still drinking well and similar to day 2 experience. Recommendation: A solid buy and one of the better values out of California.
