Interesting and complex nose of toast, lemon and green apples. The palate is acidity, bone dry and quite linear. Tasted over two days to see if it opened up with more air but remained very tight and laser like focus. Didn't engage me as much as the 2012 which I found to offer a lot more interest on the palate, but suspect this will benefit from further five years aging in the bottle.

Emirates flight. Lovely Champagne. Clearly dryer but also much more precisely drawn than the NV tasted just before. Fine nose of brioche, citrus and some white fruit.

Yellow/silver. Very bubbly. Aroma of lemon, violets, dust. Lovely flavours of lemon, yeast, apple, cardamom, orange water. Tang of grapefruit in there somewhere too. It’s rich and a little off-dry which really works. Touch of bitterness at the end, which is balancing. Very fine. More evolved than the 2012. I would drink this first.

Light gold. The nose is rich with notes of honey, yeast, and tinned pears. The palate is rich but refreshing. A lively mouse and note of pastry and creamy citrus.

Lemon and green apple on the nose. A little rough on the palate still but with good acidity. Medium length. I’m guessing this would require another 3 years to enter its prime drinking window.

40th anniversary tasting (L'Esprit du Vin - Axelborg): My notes from this fantastic gigantic tasting are in general extremely short (because of the many wines) but with ratings. We spent a whole day tasting and tasting quality wines.
This wine: Lack of concentration

Home of Food Festival (Lord's): The sign said this was the 2012 Vintage, however the price was right so we soldiered on heroically. A little plush perhaps but by no means flabby, lovely mouthfeel but lacking the delicacy of the 12. Not sure I'd seek it out but at a ~30% markup on retail seemed a good deal.

Bienvenue a Champagne; 4/20/2023-4/29/2023 (Les Crayeres, various restaurants, Les Avises and a many wonderful producers): We are fairly unfamiliar with the vintage Veuves and so I’m trying to think if we’d had many at all. This was a solid champagne. Reasonably well done. Also our wedding year so that has a special significance. Not sure that I will be actively seeking this out but I wouldn’t turn down a glass in the future either.
