More evolved than a few years ago but still alive and well. Coravin sample. Needs at least 30 min of swirling in the glass to open up. Gone are the bright cherry notes. Darker flavours, more syrupy. Good value. Drink now or in the next 3-4 years.

2001 Warre Porto Late Bottled Vintage, Bottle Aged, Unfiltered; Bottled 2005, Released for Sale 2009. $33/750 ml. Warre's 'earlier bottled, late released' style has been a favorite of mine for a long time, and often will iimprove 15-20 years in cellar (such as the 1982). 20 pabv. Produced and bottled by the Symington family; imported by Vineyard Brands, American Canyon, CA.
Cork-finished; could not be removed with an Ah-So, but a Waiter's Friend did the trick. Double-decanted through a port filter. A moderate amount of medium-sized, leathery crust. Quite bitty when examined in a Riedel Zin glass; heavy coating and tears; deep purple-gray, opaque coloration with a 2 mm meniscus, no bricking perceptible. At 12 years or age looks like a current release.
Spicy-peppery cherry-mineral nose, with a juicy, lightly vanilla-tinged impression.
A creamy, mouth-filling wine, with the alcohol and tannin texture coated with extract. Deep and focused cherry-juice impression, on the dry side, with a persistent ripely-tannic finish. Served with some Murray's Reggiano, it matches nearly as well with the cheese as a Gaja Barbaresco would.
A very impressive specimen of this type, and totally pleasurable current drinking; with Warre's rusticity but with considerable depth of fruit, and time in hand, as Michael Broadbent would say. Drink now-2020. 91+/100

The Iberian Peninsula (My apartment): Great stuff, this. Call me crazy, but I had the 85 Dow vintage a few weeks ago and it paled in comparison to this at 4 times the price. This is drinking perfectly now - it still has the brilliant red fruit of youth, but it has also developed some quite lovely tertiary character. It is a true art to create a Port that does not taste too hot. Ok, some people like the fire, but not I, and this was beautifully tame, so it gets major points for that. Still bright and youthful yet quite warm and deep. Will remain at peak for a long time, as Ports tend to, so should still be drinking beautifully in another 10 years. Decanting is a must - this has thrown a very sludgy sediment. $30.

Good LBV. Huge sediment, not as refined as the 2000 Warre LBV. Great dark fruit, some tar, a little oak, creamy, not overly sweet, long finish. A little more time may add complexity since this so unfiltered. A nice port for the price.

An excellent LBV with plum, blackberry, licorice and spice flavors, good grip and medium length. Shows moderate vintage port character in an accessable (but not soft) format. Very enjoyable.

Drank over 3 weeks. Became smoother and more expressive over time. Nice Opaque purple color, with good shine, and legs. The alcohol content is kept in check by lip-smacking purple/ blue berry fruits, that are rich and sweet, but not dried. Lots' of life in this bottle, and well enjoyed by all.

Drunk over 4 days this hardly developed at all in that time. Very youthful with dense purple fruits and a touch of fig. Rather unknit spirity nose at present. Rich, dense flavour, medium sweetness and good length - though the alcohol shows there too. Not great for drinking right now but with good potential for the future. Leave it 5 years. 90-93pts.

Full bodied. Soft and juicy cassis and blackberries. Soft because of its sweetness, but also firm tannin in the background. A well made LBV port wine which is not too easy going and offers a little competition. For an LBV a very nice and not too soft style imo.

No personal notes. I will echo Benj and PRomain thoughts. Better than expected 3-4 days in.

Nice, as expected, but I found it to not be as good as what I had hoped when I bought it. There are much better alternatives at this price.

Good Port. Not Stellar, but consistent and tasty. Dried fruit action with some carmel and dark chocolate. Not overly complex, but quite nice.

A bit too sweet and soft for me, lacking energy, though there's some nice evolved plum and baked earth notes, I think this may simply be tired.

Monday Wine Club (BYOB at Hawksmoor) (Hawksmoor Air Street): Good, prunes and raisins. Went very well with the peanut butter pudding. I think we finished the whole bottle so that's really all you need to say! 89
