Lots of depth on the nose: sous bois, currants, cherries. The structure was solid: good acid and tannin. With time the palate faded as others have noted. Finish shortened up, alcohol felt more present. Probably getting a little old. Even the domaine says to drink within 2-10 years. Will come back to that last bottle in a couple years as an experiment.

50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 11 + Smaak / Afdronk: 13 + Algemeen / potentieel: 8 = 87/100

Dark berry and cherry nose leads to raspberry and cranberry on the palate with some underlying earthiness. Crisp acidity and a bright fruity finish. Not much depth to this one.

This is one you want to have in your cellar to open for people who think they don't like Burgundy. Immediately seductive. Delightfully pretty and refreshing; charm delivered with authority. If they don't like this then just give up and open a Chateauneuf. dg

Another BYO Date (Restaurant La Piperna - Madrid): Charming and seductive on the nose. Delicate aromas of violets, red fruit and phosphor. Mature Chambolle. Balancing every element in the mouth. Silky texture for a good acidity what's promising more time ahead so this vintage isn't so much short as many were prognosticating. Paired a carabinieri rissoto.
En nariz encantadora y seductora. Aromas delicados a violetas, frutillos rojos y fósforo. Un Chambolle maduro. Equilibrando en boca cada elemento. De textura asedada con una buena acidez lo que promete más tiempo por delante así que esta añada no es tan corta como muchos estaban pronosticando. Acompaño un rissoto de carabineros.

Lots of red berry aromas, very fresh, with subtle spice. Red berry and cherry flavors, slightly ripe to start but more restrained middle to finish. Moderate intensity. Very good mouth feel with mineral textures start-to-finish.

So pretty. Feminine, charming and seductive. Beautifully light and pure, with enough silky tannin and spice to round off the beguiling simplicity. I am happy to be seduced. dg

Burghound in Asia Grand Tasting (St-Regis Hotel, Singapore): Expressive on the nose with wet stone, damp forest floor and some sweet blue Pinot fruits and floral. Quite rich on the palate with sufficient sweet fruits that come across elegance and seductive as a Chambolle, not complex but easy going with fine tannin that bring on to the decent lengthy finish. Not bad. Buy - Maybe.

Burghound in Asia Grand Tasting (St. Regis Hotel, Singapore): Another nice village chez Gros. Nose was so Chambolle, a bit of reduction maybe, but past that there was with a bit of soil, a whole lots of flowers and sweetly melting cherry scents, almost maraschino-like. The sweet cherries were taken on in the palate along with a raspberry-ish edge. Really nice pure fruit playing upon a flowery Chambolle backdrop. All very clean, clear and fresh and, when put alongside the soft, velvety tannins, one got a seductively femenine wine that was just delicious to drink. A spicy twist at the finish added a bit more interest and playfulness. Primary, but very yummy. Like its Vosne Barreaux cousin, this should reward mid-term aging.

Drinking quite nicely and really developed into a terrific example of village Chambolle over the course of about 5 hours (opened 3.5 hours in advance). As noted here this is not a big wine but it has very nice crunchy red fruit, decent mid-palate sweetness and extraction and a nice balance of acidity and tannin on the finish. I wouldn't imagine this developing into anything more substantive than what it is now but I think this will be a nice Chambolle for the next 7-10 years.

A bit thin, but still a pretty and delicate Chambolle. By memory, it seems not quite as full or fruity as the '05 version, but nice enough that even Julie, who doesn't care for red wine, liked it. Subdued. Possibly could develop, but I don't have any more and I won't seek it out.

Charming and forward, light on its feet but with fine, intense red fruit flavours. There isn't a whole lot going on here, but simplicity can be enjoyable esp when served up with balance and finesse. Just right for a restful dinner at home on a Sunday night, it went nicely with a juicy grilled fillet of mackerel.

Oh ! what a beautiful pink ruby !!! So clear and shimmery !! How can she makes it ? Elegant nose of sweet strawberry combined with red roses. Texture is abundant, balance, silk, soft, sweet Chambolle-Musigny in a lady jacket....so beautiful.... Finish is too good for a village wine. I'm falling in love...I can feel it... Should buy 6 bottles more.

What a pretty wine; light cherry color; very obvious fragrance dominated by strawberry with some Marachino cherry in the background with a bit of vanilla. Very delicate on the palate but not insipid. This is Burgundy summer fruit punch but with clean acidity rather than cloying sugar. If it weren't sexist, I would call this a very feminine wine. Drinking beautifully right now and I will drink my few bottles prompty before they change into anything else. This is what I always imagine Chamboille to be but usually don't get.

I drank most of this bottle while hiding it out of sight at Rick Wilson's house. Selfish, yeah, but I wanted to get a handle on this, my first 2006 red Burg. I was fearful it would suffer with the memory of so many delicious '05s. But this would have been a shining star in a blind lineup of villages '05s. Really pretty Chambolle bouquet of raspberry and rose petal. Still a little reserved, but perhaps that will change with another year of bottle age. On the palate, delicate yet flavorful; juicy, fruity, beautifully balanced and focused. I don't know if this saw any oak but if so, it's subdued. Pure pleasure of a type that only Burgundy seems to give.
