Good, some interest, but somewhat a rough style. Can age more, still very vigorous. Open three nights. Like the diversity of Burgundian wine styles, such as this bottle.

A really great bottle. It's really standout quality is its finish which is both pretty and quite lengthy. On opening it was quite tart but that smoothed out with air. Did not decant, and drank about 2 hours after opening. Both red and blue fruit flavors, some hints of tea, a little bit of stony mineral flavors, with just the slightest touch of smoke. The long finish is dominated by the fruit and is quite juicy.

Will be brief and agree with the prior reviews: berry and bramble, wonderfully balanced and medium to full bodied. Drinking nicely 15 minutes out of the bottle and plenty of life left. Slight tart acidity perhaps. Lovely taste and my much less snobby than I wife likes it.

A real beauty. Still young and structured, but this shows ripe brambly fruits and fine minerals. Impeccably balanced and one for the long haul. This may not ever be hyper-complex, but it's a lovely drink now that will only improve.

Medium-dark crimson color. Nose of brambles, accented by some woody and stony notes. This is mostly comprised of tart black and blue fruit notes on the palate, which remains mostly primary. There is a lingering woody note on the moderately acidic finish. Pretty good, but I'd say there's room for some improvement here with a few additional years in the cellar.

What a gorgeous wine. Decanted for about an hour then drank over another hour. It had some sediment but not a lot. Continuously improving over that time. Smelled and tasted great. Initial impression is "bright." Some smoke and earth on the nose with hints of red berry fruit. On the palate more fruit, a lot of stony mineral flavors, hints of tea and over time some tobacco. Longish finish.

Tuesday Night Double Blind $40+ (Bin 75): Dark crimson with small light red rim; diaper, red fruit, hints at cinnamon, sandalwood, fennel; deep and rich palate, big for Burg, very cherry, tannic, ripe, sour cherry, larger scaled, dark cherry pit, chewy, dense; a little singular but good potential; this bottle may have been advanced slightly.

Popped and poured, this medium-carmine colored wine has an immediate fruity bouquet of cherries and cranberries. A deeper inhalation yields walnuts, pine needles and sous-bois (all this within minutes of opening, and at cellar temperature). Decanted a few hours, this tends toward the darker end of the spectrum, with more pronounced tobacco aromas, some mushroom, and a hint of mint. Despite the expansiveness of the nose, the palate remains tightly constricted behind a carapace of zingy acidity. This is promising in terms of future development but leaves the overall experience a bit lopsided in favor of the nose right now. It's a lovely nose, though, thus the high score- with a perhaps point or two for long-term potential.

Brickish complexion. Scents of Pommard gravel and dried prunes augment the otherwise straightforward cranberry fruit that characterizes the nose and palate here. Although not notably fine in texture, the tannin leaves a light footprint, so this is a relatively accessible, easy-to-drink '05 with a pale, mild personality though a noticeable tinge of VA intrudes somewhat on its purity.
