This wine has completely melded together. Immediately get notes of brown sugar, baking spice and dried herbs. But on glass 2 you start to get through to the complex fruit notes buried within.
Overall it came off as a little thin.
So far we have had one bad bottle out of the 2 we opened
Color: tawny red with a mahogany brown rim Nose: clove, clay, and dried herbs Body: light body, light acidity, light tannin Palate: brown sugar, clay

Deep colour. Straightforward smell of creamed strawberries. Taste enhances the experience and adds a medim level of tannins. THe codalie is for 20 seconds. Nice wine. Drinks well until 2016

Decanted 4 hours. Nose: dirt, moss and hint of bacon fat. Palate: initially pretty flat, but has a finish at the end. Fairly high notes of coffee grinds and smoked oak. Well bodied, but without the typical fruity, jammy pinot flavors.

Years ago, this was a go-to QPR pinot for me, as it was accessible and within my early budget. This version has black cherry, some spice and is styled easy with a simple finish.

Ripe PN nose. Medium body. Bright cherries on the palate. Smooth. I guess I can't complain at the price point, but I'm not going to rush out and get any, either.

Birthday Dinner (Marvin's): 1st '07 from Carneros. It seems that the California PN's are pushing the envelope as to how extracted they can get as well as how much oak to throw on these wines. This is one example. Always a pleasure to look forward to this wine and usually consistent. This vint seems to be more of a smokey, meaty, toasty oak styled wine. Black cherry as apposed to red berries. Smoke instead of delicate spices. The acidity is only decent, when it used to be balanced perfectly. This would be a great wine if we were analyzing a Syrah, but this is PN. Tough call?

Stewed red fruit and raspberry. The palate is harsh and off putting

Good compliment to mushroom risotto. Nothing extraordinary, just a good glass of wine.

got better after an hour, became less single-note. Decent QPR but nothing to write home about.

Good solid Cali pinot. Not syrupy or overripe like so many, good balance.

Taste the Terroir Difference (Martin Wine Cellar, Metairie, LA): Not overly complicated, but does what it does very well. Nice acidity that's not overwhelming. Honestly, a better value than its single vinyard cousin.

Nice pinot flavors, decent balance not very acidic, short finish. The bottle was open but not decanted about 6 hours before drinking.
