Coravin fun - Corton (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Bonfire, Autumn leaves, mushrooms, berries, almost a little coffee note, touch of ashiness, a touch of umami, fresh earth, biscuit, lovely nose. Juicy, savoury, fleshy, tangy, tannins are drying though talc textured, flavours of mushrooms, berries, biscuit, beautifully balanced. Long. Yum.

The Corton Clos du Roi is one of my favourite wines from Domaine de Montille, it’s light-footed approach works well in this terroir. In many occasions I have found their Corton Clos du Roi more elegant than their well-regarded Vosne Aux Malconsorts. Served after the 2007 de Montille Malconsorts, this Corton clearly shows a more gentle extraction. Light and elegant, Premier Cru weight. slight herbaceous note, a typical characteristic of 2007 red Burgundy. Delicate red cherry, smooth, sweet spices. The acidity is fairly low. Silky smooth tannins, a very attractive Corton. (88/100)

From Coravin. Plentiful ripe blackberry fruit with a little plum, butter, caramel and sweet spice back this. there is a pretty jubey note here as well. Very primary nose. Fresh wild fruits and floury textured tannins, balanced but, again, the palate shows just as primary as the nose. time but yum.

Wonderful nose. Sus bois aromas and red berry fruit. Ready to drink but will get better in a few years. Nice on the palate as well with silky mouthfeel and a nice deep pinot taste. A Burgundy worth its money.

Coravin fun - old new arrivals (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Biscuit, white pepper, red berry, polished creamy oak. Juicy acidity, fresh red berry fruit, spice, integrated tannins. No tertiary for me at the moment. Long, delicious. Drink now if you like 'em primary otherwise come back in 10+ years

Great purity of fruit here. Red cherries, leafy herbs, hint of rust. Quite elegant and approachable, but would continue to evolve at least 5 more years.

Expressive earthy tone and smoky nose came first, then subtly turned into mineral and oaky smell. Palate was quite savory, with mineral backing, and acidity on high side. Medium body with cherry fruit mixed with some oak favor. Matured now and a bit on light side.

Fantastic nose, light side of Pinot style. So pure and clean. Love this type of nose, beautiful sweetness on the palate. Still youthful. Will make you happy for the next 5-6 years.

Earthy and leathery. Turning a bit to a light side now, but cherry character is still there.
