Still very fresh. Cassis, pepper, raspberry, mint, fresh tobacco, merguez, wet leaves. Nutmeg and baking spice. Another 5+ years at least. Glad I have two more in my cellar. 04-01-2020

Drank this at Jade Palace to celebrate the farewell of a colleague.
Beautiful notes of blueberries and prunes on the nose. More approachable and ready to drink than the 04 Folly at this point. The more rustic notes of tobacco, heavy oak, aged leather and mocha and sweet red fruits are starting to give way to a more integrated and wholesome profile.
Awesome wine drinking beautifully at this stage. Drink it with a few hours of decanting if you can afford the time. Won't regret it.

well made and drinking nicely at the moment with dark fruit and vanilla upfront and a nice full bodied finish. a lot of sediment in the bottle so it should be decanted but it is still drinking nicely.

Not commenting on it's qualities, as previous reviews do a great job on this, but rather registering what put me off and prevented it to get a higher score. Maybe past its peak, expected more fruit, more polish, less evident weight and no raisiny notes. Other than that, great wine!

Full body, dark to inky purple color. Elegant black fruits and flowers aroma complements by vanilla, oak, black pepper and tobacco notes. Black currants and blueberry, dark chocolate and cedar wood palate, long mineral finish. Powerful and rich, bold texture, complex but slightly dis-balanced, too high alcohol, lovely berries acidity, still tannic. Food friendly, best match is grilled meat or not dominant hard cheeses or rice dishes. Serve 18º - 24º. Open half hour in advance. Mature, drink now and next eight years.

Coravin fun - Chardonnay and random reds (Day Street, Marrickville): From coravin. Blackberry and blueberry, sweet spice, cream, vanilla, quite ripe. Quite broad and ripe on the palate, fruit and spice as per the palate. Slightly sour and with fine textured slightly gritty tannins and quite a lot of alcohol heat. Medium plus length. Quite nice in a slightly sour way. There is also a bit of savoury almost peppery spice on the end of the finish. Okay.

Rich and full bodied. Sediment in the bottle. Stewed fruit with a long powerful finish that turns slightly alcoholic on the finish. Wine can age for several more years with potential to improve.

Lunch at Wine-Ark Daves (Banksia, Sydney): blackberry and sweaty Ribena dominates slight volatile acid sourness and muted cream and vanilla no the nose. In the mouth the wine is juicy with black pepper dominating black fruits with touches of liquorice and slightly course grained floury tannin rolls over the fruit which does persist on the medium plus length finish that has a little alcohol warmth.
LOVE! Decadent with a milk chocolate, salted caramel deliciousness. The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, prune, stoniness, light toast and diacetyl (butter). It tastes like blackberry, prune, cherry, mineral, cedar, clove and diacetyl (butter). The body is medium/full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

Brought to wine club holiday party and tried to open and let air out but it was found and consumption began within 30 minutes. WOW - even with its youth and minimal air it is one complex beast. Hedonistic nose of dark fruit and liquor and more of the same on the palate with slight heat and great length on the finish. I found the bottle about 3 hours later with a little left in the bottom and many more layers of complexity had formed adding chocolate and eucalyptus to the mix. 5 more sleeping for later.

Advanced Technical Tasting Course. Lesson # 4 (Wine Route Tel Aviv): Tasted blind. Purple-black color. In the nose black/ ripe fruits and chocolate. Full bodied and muscular, a lot of fruit and oak in the palate. Predominant tannins, High acidity and long finish. This is a very good wine, even tough too my colleges gave him low scores (approx. 87) I thing it worth at least 92.

Velvety upon the tongue but is contrasted by controlled tannins after it's ripe fruit with hints of coffee and spice leave my mouth. One of the most beautiful deep purple wines out there. Aurelio's double folly is no folly at all! (named Folly because most felt he planted the wrong vines at the wrong location!).

Shiraz tasting with some big wines: 15% ABV. Huge, huge wine, really is a blockbuster. Even concentrated than some big Aussie shirazes. Possibly a little over-extracted and overripe, but maintains such a great balance and a solid structure. A complex nose with black pepper, sage, stewed plums, grilled meat, liquorice. Also a hint of mint and coffee. Full bodied on the palate with dark fruits, spices, enormous concentration, but with a backbone of lovely firm tannins. Acidity is slightly lower, but good, and just feels natural and appropriate for a warm climate wine like this. Alcohol is completely hidden. Stunning wine, will last.

Great Syrahs and Shirazes (Wine Route Tel Aviv): Dark purple, completely opaque. This wine has a "crazy" nose – fruit, chocolate, vanilla – complex and powerful. Thick, chewy body. Excellent balance, nice tannins, very good acidity. An "High-Tech" wine – all the components are there and very well integrated.(86$)

Interestingly, this wine was very much like a young bordeaux. Plenty of rough and dusty tannin with fruit, oak, and spice well balanced. The singing acidity and black cherry nose, however, give up it's tale-tell syrah character. This wine has a great story, 45 degree sloped vineyards high upon Apalta when others laughed at the thought of planting syrah...nobody's laughing now. A sexy label, bottle, and juice...quite a nice combination. Enjoyed simply with cheese and crackers as this wine would have likely overpowered most food...it's quite a purple monster!
