Great example of a good white Bordeaux. Everything in place with quite a bit of complexity but also balance. The freshness is still there, and perhaps it will last several more years but I will drink the ones I have left over the next six months to be sure, and start on the 2010s after that.

With that nice waxy characteristic that develops as Sauvignon Blanc ages, the wine has retained its fresh, lemon focus, and has added a crushed stone and hineysuckle character to the finish.

nutmeg, cigarbox, apples and white peach on the nose. Follows up in moth with lime, peach, cigarbox, licorice and smoke. Great complexity, well balanced and very elegant behavior. Long.

The wine is clear and bright with a medium lemon colour and presence of legs. The nose is clean and developing, showing medium(+) intensity aromas of vanilla, cedar, fennel, lemon peel and yellow apple. The wine is dry in the mouth with a medium(+) acidity. It has low soft tannins and a medium alcohol. I has a medium(+) body and pronounced intensity flavours of green apple, lemon peel, fennel, cedar peaches and vanilla. The finish is long.
It is a very good quality wine. It has a great flavour concentration, a lingering finish and a good overall balance between all structural elements. However it could be more complex in the nose. Can drink now, but it has enough acidic structure and fruit concentration to develop more complex tertiary aromas in the next 3-5 years.

Full and delicate nose. Lightly perfumed and fresh. Elegant. Citrus, gently oaky, mandarin, honey, beeswax and hints of mint. Concentrated, full palate. Very balanced, Integrated oak. Honey, flowers and beeswax. Yellow fruits and plums. Harmonius. Tasted blind after much guessing around we spotted the semillon waxiness of White Bordeaux. Lovely evolved, in perfect drinking window. Slightly lacking in persistence and length, but a very good Fieuzal!

Aromatically lovely with pear, lemon and honeydew, this underappreciated white wine has acid balance with delineated minerality and delights of Bordeaux terroir.

Sitter svært lenge i. Drikker flott, men trenger enda litt tid til å falle helt på plass.

Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine has deep intensity lemon color, with legs. Nose: Clean, it has medium (+) intensity aromas of green fruit such as quince, tropical fruit of pineapple, stone fruit of peach, floral notes of elderflower, oak notes of vanilla, mineral notes of waxy, maturity notes of hay. The wine is developing. Palate: Dry, it has medium (+) acidity and medium level alcohol. Medium in body, with medium (+) intensity flavors of dairy notes of cream, green fruit such as pear and grapefruit, oak notes of toast, stone fruit of peach, floral notes of honeysuckle. The wine has a medium (+) finish. Conclusion: Very good quality Pessac-Leognan white wine with good concentration on the nose and palate, showing plenty of complexity, it has a good acidity to provide a refreshing yet well-structured body, offering good range of flavors and a fairly long finish. The only criticism is the alcohol is a bit hot on the swallow. Ready to drink now, the wine can benefit from further ageing of another 4-6 years.

Lovely zesty character. Some oak present, but not spoiling in any way. Really only adding to the complexity, and I can't think of a reason not to drink this now. Lovely wine; still a tiny bit foursquare and adolescent, but in a sweetspot place right now.

Very lifted and intense nose showing some floral tones and sauvignon notes, but is dominated by the oak at this stage. Over the course of a few hours the oak integrates a bit aromatically and settles down some. The palate is equally intense - fullish and rich, though precise; extremely long with a sustained acidity throughout. Given time for the oak to integrate, this should become something very good as the material makes quite the impression and shows loads of potential.

Medium golden colour, intensely aromatic nose. Elegant but overwhleming new toasty oak and sweet vanilla, nothing coarse here. On the background sweet and ripe fruit like quince, peach, pineapple and melon. Palate is similarly intense, oaky flavours, sweet spice, citric and white fruit. Texture is fluid and body medium. High acidity balances extract and sweet spice. Very good quality oaky white wine, ready to drink but will evolve for at least 5 years and possibly oak will integrate. Wine made from first-class base material but essentially created (from excellent oak and very competent winemaking) at the winery.

Terroir-istes International - France, Bordeaux, Pessac-Leognan Blanc, Part 1 (Rodwell House): Light gold the wine has an oxidative note with barley sugar, some oak and resin. The palate follows with lively acidity and promise of ripe fruits but all weighted down with oxidative hints resulting in smoky notes, falls over quickly.

Decent, shows a bit of greenish sauv blanc character, a bit tart on the palate – otherwise a bit watery and unexciting. Ok for the price range. 86-87.
