A small glass of heaven in the bottle. Wonderfully expressive, mellow, persistent, the flavors grow and grow with different waves of tropical fruits, stones, hazelnut, acids, peaches, melon all playing out in harmony. One of my favorite DuMol bottlings in recent years.

Summer flowers to start. Fully mature aromas and flavors show ripe stone fruit with lots of butterscotch, then hints of papaya, vanilla. Sweet spice accentuates the richness, but there's enough acidity to maintain freshness, even with the touch of heat at the end. I recall liking this more at release, but it's still drinking nicely. Held up persistently through the evening until finished - three hours after opening.

Came back and retasted after being opened, refrigerated, but Vacuvined for two days. This is bigger, more fruit and perfectly done oak than the others we compared it to. Great dinner wine and did keep well for the two days. Rich, buttery, and great balance with acidity .

2nd night open...straight out of the fridge. Aromas of vanilla extract, spices, lemon drops, dried apricot, and marshmallows. This is a full bodied Chard, 14.4% above, with med acidity. Flavors are med+ and include deep lemon and candied apricot, with creamy vanilla notes, leading into a long, slightly hot finish, with a flash of spice at the end. This is a complex, fully mature California Chardonnay, showing nice class and breed. This wine is a bit overblown and "big" for my liking, but I can certainly appreciate the detail with which it was crafted. Very tasty, drink now through 2017.

I really don't think California chardonnay gets any better than this. It's fully mature and probably will not last long, but it's wonderful in that California way. The light gold color is lovely. Waves of tropical fruit waft from the glass - peach, mango, apricot. There's oak too, on the nose and palate, but not overdone or blowsy. The acidity is good and it holds well in the glass. It's almost too much of a good thing, but then pulls back at the last second because it's structurally sound.

A rich, thick, creamy Chardonnay. Citrus and pineapple flavors with balanced acidity. Through all that, still a crisp wine that fills the mouth. This has gotten deeper and creamier with time and I am sorry this was our last bottle. Concludes the concert with a WOW finish. (Doris: amazing wine. WOW. deep flavors of citrus, creamy. 92)

Pears, lychee and oddly enough anise which leads to a faint butterscotch on the nose. Nice acidity with a hint of oak. No cloying here and medium body but also not much recognizable flavors. I liked this much better than my last bottle but still not a knockout..

Okay, so my last note was wrong, this doesn't have a couple of years of improvement. While this is tasting well, it is starting to drop off. The fruit is diminishing and butter is evident. It is an easy drink, but lacks complexity. i have one left and it won't see the New Year 1-1-(Roy's Restaurant, Waikiki, HI). Ritchie and Dutton vineyards blend.

Consistent with previous tasting notes. Damn, this is a nice chard, and at its peak. Rich, unctuous, and yet still light on the palate. Didn't hurt that my wife greeted me with a lovely broiled fish and a nice watermelon and feta salad to pair with the wine.

Top Tier. Loved this wine. Bon: Buttery, citrus nose. Slightly sweet. Nate: Sweet, tropical fruit flavors are well balanced by acidity, which develops at precisely the right moment to balance the sweetness. Hints of vanilla in the finish. This is the best white we've had.

The fourth bottle of this and it is still something of a mystery. Light dross in the glass with good viscosity. The nose is fresh brioche, apricot and caramel. Meyer lemon, oak and some acidity on the palate. I desperately want it to be the equivalent of Kistler, Peter Michael or Aubert at a lower (not much lower) price point, but I just can't get there. Especially on the palate. BUT--the finish is absolutely spectacular. I don't know that more time would make a difference, bringing this to the next level, but I'll never know since this was my last bottle.

Excellent nose of ripe tropical fruit along with some minerality and some vanilla flavors. The wine has excellent fruit along with crisp acicity. It seemed fairlyy Burgundian when first opened, with that tell-tale oatmeal and mineral fragrance. Delicate, not too oaky or sweet. But as time went on, it showed it's try colors of pineapple and mango. Still very tasty and good restraint. Certainly a success for what it is.

This is scary good. Definitely could be mistaken from a fine Batard Montrachet from a young, but very good, vintage. The aromatics are glorious, combining a mixture of every type of summer fruit without being at all too tropical. Perhaps slightly more pineapple than Burgundy. Mouth cleansing fruit acidity, long, clean finish. It's the superb balance which elevates this to another level. If only I could preserve it just like it is.

Drank a few bottles of this fine chard with spicy Chinese food which on first blush might not have been the ideal paring. But actually it worked. There's enough mineral for it to hold up to the spices and the lemons and fruit give it a lightness that really made it a delightful combination. I've bought a case of the stuff.

I drank my second bottle on 21.08.2010 and I'm still impressed by this wine. It has a light golden yellow color and a nose of tropic fruits, minerals, decent lemon and even a floral touch. On the palate this wine plays the whole repertoire. It is deep, round and balanced and starts with nice fruit tones followed by the minerality and a little spiciness before the barrique flavors start to kick in to bring you notes of cedar, smoke vanilla and buttery caramel. It seems as if it would never fade away. Fantastic.

California Chards to kick off the spring (Bonsoiree, Chicago IL): nose: deep and rich nose that is packed with tones of minerals, white fruits, buttered toast, meringue, and bits of orange peels. While it has a largeness to it, it isn't overdone and the butter is held in check
taste: great medium/full feel with medium acidity and rich tones of meringue, minerals, pears, buttered toast, and orange peels. The tones are hiding a bit and not seeming to fully show themselves
overall: this is young and could use another 2-3 years before it really gets going. While its a bigger chard, its not too big and it holds itself really well. Lots of depth on both the nose and palate, this is a great chard right now and could really turn into something

Pop and pour. In the glass, medium gold. On the nose, fruit, a hint of banana, and a bit of wet stone; on the palate, a silky, rich texture driven by an elegant mixture of tropical fruit, minerals, pears, and hints of smoke and oak to keep it in balance.
