Decanted for 2 hours from magnum. Color and nose showed amazing age. Never would of thought this was over 20 yrs. Fresh chocolate and cassis. Paired amazing with homemade pasta and meatballs. This is in a great spot right now. Moderate complexity but great balance.

2nd of several bottles w neighbors by candlelight during TX Snovidgeddon. Notes are after the fact but when I first opened this it was soft and seemed past its peak, but it added weight 45 minutes later.
Still shows its dark fruit pedigree beneath a deep coat of maturity and elegance. You’d guesss this as new world, but it’s punching well-above its price.
If I had any more of these (and I don’t) I would consume in the next 1-2 years simply because there’s more risk waiting than enjoying it today.
WOTN was a 13 Foley Mountain Merlot, 90 mins in the decanter.
Note:this bottle endured 3 relocations, each halfway across the country.

Excellent nose and beautiful fruit on the front palate followed by a wash of balancing acidity that handled a juicy prime steak with ease. The finish was of medium length which dropped the wine score a bit but overall an excellent wine. This bottle had, contrary to other raters impressions, plenty of acidity. Bottle variation?

Toronto Cru Monthly Tasting - July 2015 (Jay's Place - Toronto, On): Phew! This was a monster! It's still fully primary with just a boat load of fruit in the typical Napa idiom. Not necessarily overripe, but just masses of concentrated fruit. The nose is of lavender, purple candy, blueberry compote and macerated blackberry. The palate replays the sweet fruit with low perceived tannin and low acid. Not rated as I just can't do wines of this style justice.

Tasted last night and did not take notes. Lots of ripe fruit and structure left. Tannins are still quite present and while not chewy they do leave a drying sensation on the palate. This wine has at least another 5 years left before it thinks about declining at all, possibly longer.

This is quite a thick juice... Very ripe and marmelady nose. Dark berries. It has a nice balance, nicley integrated tannins but on the other side it is quite a massive wine. This is a superbly made wine but for my personal taste almost over the top.

14.8% alcohol. decanted, and followed in the glass for 3.5 hours. air definitely helped this wine, so recommended to decant. interesting, well made cab that demonstrates nice balance, even if the general components reveal a strong willed example of the grape. blue fruit + black licorice. this is not a finely nuanced wine that will develop with overt aging. i believe it is where it should be in a performance window. no hurry to drink, but why wait? drink now-2014.

This is a true classic cali cab. One of the best Foley efforts I've ever had. Top 3 cab ever
Opened in my cellar for 1.5 hours before heding toAngelini Osteria in Hlwyd. WOW!!!! Opaque colored Cabernet Wonderfully sweet aromas of melted licorice intermixed with cedar wood, black currant liqueur, chocolate, and spice. Wow!!

Bought upon release and stored properly. Decanted for 2 hours before tannins began to give. Loved the nose and feel in the mouth. Anise, cherry, rich, and lingering for 30-45 seconds. Set aside for another 90 minutes and it completed opened up to a wonderful lip smacking yummy experience. Am so glad I have several bottles remaining as this vintage year is truly superb. The wine has improved in the past 2 years and I expect it to have a very long life still.

I really liked this as a red wine but it really lacked much flavor of Cabernet. If it was drier, I'd give it a higher score. There seemed to be come RS

Needed an hour in the decanter to open up. Great blue aromas, dark fruit, tobacco, light oak. Lush mouthfeel. This wine was tight upon opening, and really opened up over a 4.5 hour window into a nicely balanced - but still fruit-dominated - wine. Clearly california, and very enjoyable.

Not as enjoyable as the first bottle I have had of this wine, but it was still great. This was a cellar raid wine at midnight after a long night of drinking somewhere else. Still my top three favorite cali cab produces and this wine was impeccably balanced with lush dark fruits, chocolate and toasty oak. Very good stuff

Dark, lush, youthful fruits and chocolate with oak-influenced vanilla and spice notes. Weighty, dense mouthfeel. Full-bodied with abundant, medium-grain tannin. Big wine. I'll echo the Pride Reserve once again.

ultra ripe and rich wine. Dark berries, milk chocolate, great vanilla, and toasty oak. Just spot on. Had incredible structure, layer after layer of different flavors exploding on the palate. The core of this wine, highlighted by the oak, was dense and pure, but drank outstanding now. No decanting on this wine. Perfectly integrated.

Very similar to my last note. Characteristic Bob Foley dark, well spiced liqueur-like fruit and vanilla oak. Firmly structured with fine through abundant tannins. Pride Reserve like.

Very big and nice, needs time in the glass, still young. Fruit bomb but not too much creosote like some other cali cabs. At an awkward stage; tannins not overpowering but still displaying an edge. Needs a few years to smooth out in the bottle...

Eating and drinking my way through San Francisco; 12/26/2005-12/30/2005 (San Francisco, CA): A Bob Foley blueberry liqueur and spiced vanilla oak nose. Viscous and juicy, with good weight and fruit that keeps up with the significant fine tannin. Would definitely benefit from decanting. Some coffee notes on the palate. Not too far from the regular Pride Cab to me, though thicker and more substantial in the build.

Not quite sold on this one yet. Unfortunately, didn't decant and so it was tight. My fear is this tasted too much like brown sugar and I'm afraid it may be too big for my tastes. We'll see in 5 years when I try another.

this wine was HUGE! So perfumed on the nose, but so powerful on the palate, this was a monster that could walk a tightrope. A wealth of black fruits, strong minerality, expresso bean, touch of cedar, and ripe toothcoating tannins. One of the longest finishes ever! Not for everyone due to sheer size and power, but with a sirloin on the grill this is your match. Wonderful.

Inky black core with a blueish purple rim. Appealing nose cassis, frappucino and clove. The palate was monster, enveloping the palate with the viscocity of motor oil, yet stays super light on its feet, with zero sense of heavyness. Waves of ripe red fruits, more moccha, roasted meats, cinnamon and sweet oak. This literally dances on the palate before going down the hatch. An incredible finish that goes the distance. This is a huge wine, but impeccably balanced. Top juice.
