Drink. I expect this wine to only worsen from here. Drank alongside the 09’ block 23, and this has held up extremely well in comparison. There are some subtle hints though that this may start to decline in the near future. The fruit is still very bright, and the wine is well balanced.

Subsequent notes on this wine from three years ago. Dark, deep violet in color with slight clearing at the edges. There was a slight note of volatility upon opening which quickly dissipated with airing & developed into a full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blueberries & mulberries with overtones of floral notes of violets & spice notes of allspice, earthy/dusty, sandalwood, herbs, minerals, cocoa, cherry cola & a slight hint of oak/vanilla. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, lush & rich, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with spices, herbs, cocoa, some cherry cola notes, minerals & a slight hint of oak/vanilla. Lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well at 13 years of age & is at or close to its peak of development. However, it should hold onto its current plateau of development for several more years if cellared properly but any further development is not likely.

Mocha and coffee notes, dark red berries, warm baking spices. Rich but with nice acidity to balance. Six hour decant but I doubt it needs it. At peak and a standout for the vintage.

Delicious Pinot - still great. Loved it. Red fruit notes. Shea wines are amazing but I was worried we had a bottle that was past it’s prime. It probably was but this one didn’t disappoint.

Great color, but the nose was an odd mix of medicinal notes and stewed plum. The palate was the same. Too bad, as this was an auction buy that I was pretty excited to try. Tasted like it was a pretty ripe wine to begin with that is either cooked or flat-out aged very poorly.

Dark, deep violet in color with no obvious signs of aging. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blueberries & mulberries with overtones of floral notes of violets & spice notes of allspice, nutmeg & cloves, earthy/dusty, sandalwood, herbs, minerals, dark cocoa, cola & a slight hint of vanilla. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, lush & rich, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with spices, herbs, cocoa, some cherry cola notes, minerals & a slight hint of vanilla. Lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well at 10 years of age & is close to its peak of development. However, it should hold onto its current plateau of development for several more years if cellared properly. A wonderful bottle of Pinot!

Incredible wine, drinking perfectly. Dark fruit, you can taste the Oregonian dirt and minerality, somewhat dry with enough acid to allow it to age well.

Opened 1 hour before serving. 2nd best wine of the night (2008 Panther Creek Shea Vineyard was amazing!). Dark cherry and raspberry flavors predominate, with savory notes of mushrooms and just a hint of spice. Medium body and finish.

Haven't had good luck with Shea when made by Shea, but this caught me by surprise. Much better than I have come to expect. Rich dark fruits with medium finish.

Oops - thought I was opening the Estate last night... Pretty closed, of course, but this was a big, structured pinot with great concentration and power. But not over the top, even with some elegance. Not rated, but quite tasty even now, but wait 5 years if you possibly can.

This is the kind of wine that can ruin you for other mundane choices. Simply gorgeous and delicate nose, confirmed on the palette with red cherry, black cherry, sour cherry, light spice, dark dust, powerful but elegant, and a finish that is still talking and evolving 20 seconds after you thought you were done with it. Acidity and light tannins too. What a treat.

I was really disappointed in this especially after reading all the great reviews. I picked up two bottles and wish I had bought just one. First opened this was a beautiful wine...stewed plums, and cherries , thick and dense. But I wanted to let it decant for awhile so I went back to it after two hrs and it was shut down and I kept going back to it over the next 6 hrs and it wouldn't wake up. I will keep the other bottle on hold for awhile.

Drank over 4 hours. This is a big wine. I haven't had it for a year or so and it hasn't moved at all. Big black fruit, flowers and earth on the nose. Dense dark fruit, black cherries and black pepper on the palate. Very ripe, almost too ripe for me, but really good. Rich and creamy texture. Long finish. Will be interesting to see if this evolves or if it falls apart.

The nose burst with great notes of cherry cola and floral notes. with a hint of vanilla and some caramel popcorn notes..... This wine just smells smooth as velvet. On the palate it is as smooth as it smells and then some. Great texture that floats on the tongue. Great hints of strawberry, fresh wild flowers and some oak in the background and dare I say some smoked cigar lingering. Great finish that makes you want to lick your lips. Man I am starting to enjoy Pinot's more and more.

This pinot featured a deep and dark ruby red color. The nose and palate were fairly aligned with blueberry, blackberry and black cherry fruit along with baking spices. The finish was laced with vanilla and a touch of oak. Nice balance to the components plus the body was silky smooth. Held over 2 days and this showed its best on day 2. Overall, still very young; it has the stuffing to age well over the next decade.

This is the best pinot noir I've ever had. Opened 3 hours before pouring. Deeper ruby color than many pinots. Delicate nose of violets and black cherry. Beautiful succulent taste of dark fruit blended with soft background of other things, as another review mentioned, a hint of chocolate, some very subtle spice....Velvety smooth with an absolutely lovely long finish. Honestly, I don't have the ability to describe this wine in a manner to do it justice. This wine stopped me dead in my tracks. It took me hours to finally take my last sip and I hated to finish this bottle. Thank goodness I have 2 more. The impulsive side of me say to drink them NOW....But a wine this wonderful deserves a long stretch of anticipation. Folks say it will improve.....Zowie, any better and I'll have died and gone to heaven.

Bottle had been open for 8 hours or so. Almost opaque with bright magenta hues. Subdued but focused nose of sous bois, cassis, plum, licorice, earth with a spiced and smoky richness that speaks to the heavy new oak regime. Also a hint of crayon, which I like. Palate is decadent, ripe and opulent with decent acidity for the vintage, fine grained wood tannins, youthful flavors and a long, glycerol-laden finish. Flavors of ripe plum, blackberry liqueur, baking spice, dry earth, sarsaparilla, cocoa powder and an aged rum/cognac thing going on...Such a tight feeling overall. This wine needs a decade to fully unwind but is immediately enjoyable.

More or less straight off the bottling line...Dark blue ruby, high intensity and viscosity spoke to the warmth of the vintage. In the nose the wine was a bit hot in an Oregon Pinot glass but more restrained in the traditional Burgundian balloon with moderate intensity aromas of warm blueberry, black cherry, fresh fig, baking spices and violets as well as an underlying earthiness and minerality that muted the perception of fruit: for me, an admirable trait. On the palate the wine displayed nice acidity, velvety mouthfeel, soft, chocolate-ish tannin and high but balanced alcohol throughout the seamless finish. The flavors followed the nose with a spicy structure, hints of mocha, ripe, dark fruit and, again, an rich earthiness that balances the phenolic ripeness. Stellar, spicy and decadent example of 2009 Oregon pinot.
