  • Still loads left in this, typical Otago, not burgundy but not trying to be. Rich , well balanced & long. Some sweetness

  • Shared with Sandra, Kayla and Chris. A classic Otago Pinot. Great with Muscovy duck breast in a cherry sauce!

  • (BrunnerGang@Mich'sMysteryMarvel) [parallel with 2009 Alan McCorkindale Pinot Noir Legend Terrace Vineyard] Ooooo just hits all the right spots for me: herbal chicken essence on the rounded pleasant nose, textural(?!) and spilling on damp forest floor, mossy, fresh cut oranges, purple plums and exotic five-spice. Sweetly concentrated, seductive dark spices, yet beguilingly rounded, clean and transparent, yet such effortless balance, power and focus. Wet forest floor, jammy, white pepper, leading to a long, spicy finish. Beautifully cohesive, where the nose flows effortlessly to the palate and the long meandering finish. Drinking very well now, this was just an edge taller, confident, and prettier than its neighbors tonight.

  • Half-bottle was nice - lots of fruit, light body, enough tannin to balance. Ripe cherries and plum in the nose with a spicy finish

  • The nose is quite sweet and ripe cherry with a little earthiness. It's quite bright and fresh in the mouth but showing now signs of the sweetness, this is fully dry and has some very fine tannin still left to resolve. After the initial wave of fruit and acidity it gets quite deep and leathery, quite savoury and a decent length. Really quite attractive now, but is likely to develop more complexity over a few more years at least, one of otago's rising stars.

  • Needs more time. Was closed and very enjoyable 48 hours later. Kept in fridge with screencap on. 48 hours later: beautiful nose, follows on the palate with good fruit and good weight for a pinot - as expected from central otago. Medium to long sour cherry finish. Wish I bought more on my trip.

  • This is very rich, full bodied, lush, extracted and concentrated without being overly sweet. Dark fruit and sappy coffee with a lot of very nice acid to keep it in line. Silky smooth. Pure, clean. Fine dry tannins. Big but not out of balance. New world style. I like this a lot. Could use a little more time in bottle. Would not have pegged this for Otago, it has the richness of Martinborough. Delicious. One of the best NZ pinot nors I've had.

  • WXTP Tasting II (Beautiful Wines, The Plaza): Not bad, but not really my preferred style. It had a very expressive nose, with funky nuances of wet soil and boiled herb running alongside dark cherry and floral aromas. Pretty attractive, and the palate was not half bad either. It opened with sweet, slightly candied flavours of cherries and plums, but these were undergirded by a nice savouriness that provided a nice relief to the sweet fruit. Past the midpalate, it actually got downright earthy, meaty and a little minerally at the finish - pretty nice and complex actually. This was not quite my style of Pinot - it was a bit too sweet at the get-go, but it was certainly not bad, with a decent sense of balance and structure to it. If anything, I actually enjoyed this rather more than the far more expensive Californian monsters that came shortly after. There is no harm done drinking this now if you like the primary fruit, but I do think this will actually age pretty well and mellow a little. Give it 3 to 4 years.

  • This nose is exploding from wood... Mr Cedar and Mrs Oak says a bursting "hello!" adding to this is a subtle sens of watercress and dill(!) This is a well-composed effort with the right amount of tannins, acidity and fruit. Currently a bit unbalanced, but it will develop with some time in the cellar. (score is 90-91)

  • Strong strawberry aromas with hints of lavender, cream and freshly picked raspberries. Palate continues along the strawberry line and has some sweetness and freshness.
