  Served at wine dinner with friends, note from memory. Appearance: Clear, pale-medium ruby. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity with developing aromas of cherry, strawberry, cedar, and clove. Palate: Dry, medium+ acid, medium+ tannin is youthful and grippy, medium body, medium intensity, 14.5% abv with developing flavors of cherry, clove, and spice with a medium+ finish. Felt very youthful with grippy tannin and bright fruit. Needs long decant if opening today, better in 3-5 years.

  Very approachable with typicity, while also a little fuller, richer, smoother, and riper than some. Not necessarily as complex as others at a higher price, but very enjoyable. With all respect, it's like an excellent "fast casual" restaurant--it's not fast food, and it's not complicated fine dining. Fantastic QPR.

  Light weight. More feminine like a barbaresco but with low tannins Did not pair well with my short rib. Would have been better with salmon. Ordered off a wine menu in a restaurant and was disappointed but still, not a bad wine...just not really good. Have liked Fontanafredda in the past.
