Locale: Poole, Dorset, UK
Favorite region: Southern Rhônes, Right Bank Bordeaux, Touraine and la Rioja Alta, (but QPR always!)
Dream wine: With apology to Baroness Orczy, "We seek it here, we seek it there..."
American by birth, European by choice, British by residency, I have appreciated the pleasures and mysteries of wine for over 50 years now.

I do not review every wine I taste. My choices are selective, and are meant as an aide memoire for me. I shall not include numeric scores with my tasting notes. Yes, scores can be useful but they are quite subjective; judgements are personal and impressions of any given wine can change with its age, condition, etc.

Enjoy.

10/30/2023 4:42:00 AM - Yep. And I paid 38€ /pb back in July 2020. Considering current value (£60+), we did well!

10/29/2023 9:31:00 AM - A wonderful wine that 904 2010. I will have to try it soon! I have tried the 2005 already a couple of times and that was a classy wine and at around 40 Euros superb QPR.

10/28/2023 9:58:00 AM - Let me know how the 904 2010 dinner goes. I have 2 bottles of them and would like to see how they are and would welcome your advice.

6/4/2023 11:38:00 AM - A friend of mine bought two cases of 2019 Feytit Clinet. Supposed to be amazing. I haven’t bought much 18 or 19 Bordeaux yet because I’m concentrating on earlier drinking BDX in 14, 15 & 16. Feytit & Gazin seem like good value Pomerol’s. I buy more St Emilion now as prices are lower & many have high Merlot content. Cheers

12/24/2021 10:46:00 PM - Comrade, enjoyed your message re Miles and his piles (of albums) and your comment on Gigondas. I confess the region has never really excited me, but I'd be interested in any suggestions you may have. Grenache is not high on my list of most loved, but it does offer points of difference to the usual, which I respect. One might say something similar of Miles Davis.

11/24/2021 2:50:00 PM - Stoic, happy you are coming for a visit! Would be a blast to sit and share a few bottles while you're here. We are not the biggest Rhone people but pretty much everything else is fair game. Fair warning: I was born in the base hospital at Camp Pendleton......lol. My email is Mark1pt@aol.com Feel free to hit me up when you get here. Howellmountaincru is a good wine buddy here in Naples, too.
