Purchased at the winery on release and stored at 55 degrees. Good color, bright, tart cherries on the nose. Tons of acid, a bit out of balance but improved some over time. Medium bodied, earthy plenty of cherry. Blind I might have guessed Burgundy but past its prime in any case. 86 points.

Even with 25 years the color is still vibrant. Nose has the musty underbrush notes with a bit of leather. On the front palate your can definitely taste the she of the wine but it is still quite vibrant and alive. Good acids and tannins still present, black pepper and plum back palate. 8-10 finish

Like nearly all the 90's Riberas on the night this had a very youthful colour. Once poured I feared this might be spoiled by Brett. However, while distinctly bloody, farmyardy and meaty I don't think this was Brett. Plenty of red fruit here and no sickly sweetness to it as often happens with a Brett affected wine. This got better and better as the evening went on with some really warming to it. Couldn't get Bobby to stop sniffing it! Not the cleanest wine but very enjoyable and similar to a 95 GR I had last year. (90-92)

Brown Bag Wine Dinner at Two Chefs; 10/4/2011-10/5/2011 (TWO CHEFS, MIAMI, FL): - Garnet color with medium forming legs and aromas of black olive, blackberry, raspberry, violet and cedar. It's balanced and has flavours of black olive, blackberry, raspberry and licorice anise with a medium body. Polished texture with a medium finish - Mark's wine(me). Brought in reserve and when Alvaro's Savenierre was deemed off, I uncorked it. So breathed in bottle for approx. 1 hour. Slight, but tolerable, Brett.
