I'm finding more and more that I prefer the cooler (often considered lessor) vintages in the hot Southern Rhone. Medium-full bodied with grainy tannin and some fresh acidity. Roasted black cherry fruit and some Provencial herbs and spices. Very fresh and not over-bearing in any way as well as still delightfully youthful. Drink now-2020+ 90

Vinturied into a decanter for 2 hours; medium dark ruby-garnet in colour; nose of red raspberries, some garrigue, and some red flower petals. Dried red and black plums on the palate; also getting some hints of black peppers and leather in an almost bordeux like fashion. Tannins are more integrated than last trying this in 2012; medium+ finish. This has developed nicely since I last tasted this.

This is a wonderful wine, and I'll give it a high rating on the nose and color alone. It's still quite tannic, but has it has great potential. With several years of life ahead of it I plan to sit on my other bottle a while longer to see what comes of it.

Heavy and somewhat drying in the midpalate. Tiring to drink.
Good aftertaste.
Not for me.

Still a little tight but had some great fruit and coffee flavors and aromas. Not bad for the money.
