A bit of a gamble - I've found 10s to be drinking well despite being in the "window of undrinkability". This was a close shave but is just about open for business. Deep bright purple in colour, nose is fairly explosive, first sip is voluptuous and very typically Morey fruit. Loads of density, persistent midpalate and finish, ripe rhubarb/plummy fruit. But with air it starts to tighten and whilst it remains delicious the promise of the first 5 minutes is not fulfilled. The remainder of my case will stay hidden for a few years now but I will be anticipating a treat. ***1/2 (*)

Wild berries, animal, feral, smoke and herbs. Good density and fruit. The structure and length of the wine is rock solid for a prem cru. Drinking wonderfully now. Arlaud continues to impress me.

Monthly Lunch - April: Spice, violets, minerals and oak aromas. Muscular tannins frame the palate, it has some freshness but the tannins are the focus right now. Needs plenty of time before revisiting.

I have had better village burgundy's for a similar price. The wine is a bit young. It probably need five or six more years of aging.

DIVA Burgundy Tasting; 3/21/2012-3/22/2012 (Maison Champy - Beaune): Wine tasting. Red and black cherry on palate, overall lots of fruit and structure. Came across as slightly over-extracted to me today.
