Better than the last one I opened, but a bit too much cedar notes for me. The wine seems to have aged not quite well. Drink up now or wait not more than 2-3 years.

A powerful Montsant wine made Sara Pérez (Mas Martinet/Priorat) and René Barbier junior (Clos Mogador/Priorat), the oenological dream couple of Catalonia. Varietal composition: 75 % Garnatxa (60-year-old vines), 10 % Syrah, 8 % Cabernet Sauvignon and 7 % Merlot. 60 percent of the wine spent nine months in French barriques, the rest was aged in tank. Decanted: two hours prior to tasting. Intense dark red color with some violet shades and a complex bouquet of blackberries, leather, cassis and a hint of oregano. The full-bodied palate shows concentrated berry and plum fruit, but the tannins are still quite dominant at present. Good length with a slight balsamic touch. Will likely improve over the next couple of years.

I ordered this at Oaxen slipen out of good recollection from 19glas the other month, and it still feels like very good fruit, but for some reason (maybe the pairing is less rich) it now feels more forward, rich and sweet, but still with structure. Like a well made zinfandel from someone who uses less oak than normal. Maybe it was served to warm?
