A totally enchanting, captivating ‘93 Roumier Bonnes Mares, black and red cherry, damp earth, rose, game, a little spice just expanding endlessly with a fullish, supple texture that is so evocative.

Maybe this wine is on its downslope now, but that's still coming from Everest-like heights. Roumier's Bonnes-Mares from this period were very powerful young and then turn exquisitely elegant at age +/- 20. This is light, pure, ethereal with dark fruits. Cellared since original release.

Mid-Aged Great Roumier Dinner (RPM Steak - Chicago IL): Enticing when double decanted late afternoon, but dull and awkward when tasted 4 hours later. I took home the remaining 1/2 bottle and faint corkiness emerged by the following day.

(Domaine G. Roumier / Christophe Roumier Bonnes Mares) Medium dark red color with clear meniscus; sexy, tart cherry, wild cherry, raspberry nose; fabulous and stunning, youthful but elegant, roses, tart cherry, red fruit, mineral palate; medium-plus finish

Acker "Paulee" Burgundy Dinner (Capital Seafood - Beverly Hills CA): Paulée style dinner. Dense and powerful with so much fruit, with some of the roughness of the vintage still evident. So much better than my flawed bottle from a few months ago.

99/98/93. This was awkward and not nearly as forthcoming as the other two bottles. In a weird spot or perhaps a non-perfect bottle.
