Sulfur (much milder than upon release) and berries, with an overall profile of a Carneros style meeting Willamette Valley. Loosing its fruit and showing more prominent acid, so drink soon. 88-89

VG 2010 Oregon PN. Light but good structure with good flavor. We had 2 bottles with dinner for 4 at a great restaurant in the Willamette Valley. It was recomended by the waiter. Great price for a restaurant. We have found the 2010's start out light but as one drinks the bottle, the wine's flavor really comes out. Would drink again but probably will have trouble finding it in NJ.

Memorial Day Weekend & Eyrie South Block Reserve Pinots (Willamette Valley, Oregon): Wow, what a wallop of sulfur on the nose. I overheard several people who didn't even try this it was so intense, and it didn't seem to be recently bottled either. After some vigorous swirling, most of it did blow off and eventually revealed some soft red fruit, slightly tart aromas, and plenty of barrel funk. Better on the palate, with soft red fruit and quite mild acid. Still good balance, if a bit light. Nice acid on the finish as well, with light red fruits and pleasing balance. Still not as good as the 2009.

Still drinking well. Soft elegant. Tannins are developed. Nice balance of alcohol and flavors.
