Warm cherry preserves, presumably from the large grenache component. Nice mouthfeel - a bit of oak for structure. Some notes of licorice and black raspberries. this could pass for a low end CdP. Really high QPR. At its peak now

(Michel Gassier Costières-de-Nîmes Nostre Païs) Dark red violet color; tart berry, plum, black cherry nose; tight, tart berry, plum, black cherry, charcoal, clove palate with good balancing acidity; medium-plus finish (45% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 15% Carignan, 10% Mourvedre, 5% Cinsault)

Full body, loads of black fruit, a bit of funk turning to raisin, moderate tannin, acid could be higher. For $16, I am not complaining.
Had with red wine mushroom stew and polenta. Hell yeah.
