Dark ruby colour, some sediment. Dark and some red fruit, light cucumber, dark chocolate, graphite, spice, and a mild black tea leaf component, with fine, firm tannin, good acidity and very good length. Full-bodied and well-structured, with very good concentration. The wine paired well with braised lamb. In a good place.

Weekly tasting group #158; A mixed set of red wines. (@ My place): This bottle showed a little less complex than the one I tasted 2½ years ago. In the bouquet a lot of dark forest fruits and vanilla. Same on the palate. The oak is of good quality. There is something green and vegetal as well. Good acidity, a touch of sweetness and firm tannin. The wine might have entered a dumb phase. Wait a few years. Until 2018 or so. 88 – 89+ for tonight

Weekly tasting group #035; Southwest France: Cahors (@ WW): Beautiful and somewhat mature bouquet with tobacco, menthol and truffle. On the palate juicy red as well as black fruits, sweet spices, chocolate, mild acidity and bitterness and round tannin that still offers a pleasant bite. Ready now and the next 5 years at least.
