2hr decant. It was soft, refined, well balanced and tannins in their place. Tons of cocoa, baking spice, clove, vanilla, plums, and dark cherries. This is the second time we have tasted this producer. The first, we had in London at the Game Bird recommended by their sommelier from 2015 which was lovely with venison. Tonight we had all vegetarian so we paired with an Alain Passard beet and blackberry fondue dish, which was a very good pairing. It's coming into the window now.

I was quite pleased with this one. Beautiful nose that smelled fresh and lively, with dark red cherries and more softly of blueberry pie. I was excited. The palate was still a bit tight, though it opened with air, showing mostly dark red cherries and a little gravel. The tannins stayed semi-firm throughout the evening. Really liked what it was doing alongside my bison ribeye. You can enjoy this now with air, but I think it may be a point or two better with a little more cellar time.

A nice garnet red in color, acid is medium, tannins medium plus, alcohol high, finish long.
Aromas are muffled by alcohol, maybe the bottle didn't age well, not sure, but not much here.
On the palate, jammy notes of boysenberry and a watermelon finish. It didn't present like a right bank Bordeaux at all. Fairly decent drink ability, but a bit sad by how this wine showed.

I don't have time for a detailed review, as I am in the midst of moving to a new home, with all its business and hassles. I opened this bottle to make the packing and moving more "enjoyable." Good choice! Lovely dark fruit (cherry), dark cocoa, and lush tannin. Drinking very nicely now (better on day 2), but a few more years will be rewarding.
