  • Medium framed and expectingly firm. This come across dry, terroir driven and classic. Even with all the charm, I don’t think that it has the stuffing to go a long distance but it should improve and get better each year for about a decade. I’d look for this on its 7th birthday….HOLD

  • Very open-knit, medium-bodied, and delicious. However I am getting more of the warm-brick towards red-fruited spectrum of aromas than dark. A touch of minerality in the nose and a good dose of green pepper in the flavors. Has a plenty of the fine furry tannin that makes me think 'modern' winemaking. Just 13.5%. Have seen some folks advertising near $30 which is a smashing value, but price to me is just under $50.

  • Not decanted. Drunk over two days. A good Bordeaux, at a good price. I could imagine that with more time in the cellar it could gain some complexity and depth. 91 pts. at the moment.

  • Blackberries, currants, flowers and spice create the nose. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, soft, round and fruity, with an edge of dark cocoa and plums in the fresh , vibrant, long and resonating finish. With age, this could score even higher. The wine blends 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc. 13.1% ABV. Drink from 2025-2042.

  • Lovely Ferriere, one of the most charming and open-knit to date. It's black-fruited in tone, ripe but cool, summer berries enjoyed with a night breeze, accented very lightly with toasty cedar. The tannins are present enough to give you a sense of chewing on the skins, but they are so refined the sensation in tossing it around your mouth is pure satin and velvet. Ferriere is usually firmer if not positively muscular at this early stage, so this is an exceptionally user-friendly vintage both in its fruit and mouthfeel.
