  • Absolutley beautiful Riesling. Incredible rich and thick mouthfeel. Notes of stone fruits, slate minerality, flowers. Finish is endless. Incredible balance and finesse. will age forever.

  • Very nice this young!
Elegant and showing slightly developed petrolium tones.I like this more than the 2020 version.

To finally be able to taste a wine like this is the reward you get if you dont give up and keep on trying many wines.

I think many people will find it hard to not start emptying their cellars in a early development stage. But it is evident that this wine will only grow bigger with time. Make sure you have enough for the future when the next phase is coming.

  • With climate change there are some who feel that Nahe is now a better place to find more typical German Riesling than the more prominent Moselle and Rheingau, for example. I haven't really worked out where I stand on this or whether I will continue to accept splinters up my rotunda from fence sitting.

Stylistically, this vintage will be an easy entry point for Oz Riesling drinkers - it is dry enough for them, it is dominated by lemon and lime, which will be familiar and it has plenty of acid. What it has that I have not seen in any Oz Riesling is the type of acid - none of that harsh, searing acidity I see in our wines- and a depth and complexity that I also don't see locally. Once you get past the citrus, you find ripe Granny Smith apple, and deeper still a layer of restrained tropical fruits. The layers to this wine are impressive.

I get the most out of this wine on the third day opened. The apples took a day to show and the tropical fruit layer another day. On day 1, I found this a rather austere essay in lime and lemon and I really was not feeling the love. I think with a decade, if your cork doesn't sabotage you, this will become an extraordinary wine and will easily be in the 96-98 region. There is a Keller like purity and architecture in this wine. Townes van Zandt's 'A Song For' works with this wine and opening it at this time in its development. What a song to go out on.

  • From magnum, this came across as tight and monolithic, but then really shined with food. An oyster dish paired with this was brilliant. Give this some time, especially in this format.

  • Utter infanticide, but justifiably so. Double decanted. Intense and complex aromas and flavors. Piercing acidity frames ample fruit density and viscosity. Long finish.
