Pulled this from the rack as the capsule looked a bit swollen from a bit of leakage, but if it had been leaking, it had stopped, and the there was no mould on top of the cork. The cork itself was damp and crumbly throughout, and took a bit of a struggle to extract it in as few pieces as possible. My homemade Durand imitation (i.e. using a long threaded corkscrew and a butler's thief in conjunction) got it out though. The colour is on the deeper side of mid gold. Clearly riesling on the nose, and mature riesling at that. Barley sugar, bruised windfall sweet apples, and a little smokiness. On the palate, it's pretty much as you would expect from the nose: mature riesling, feeling slightly sweet initially, but the sweetness is allayed by the acidity that's still clinging on. Remarkably little raisining on the palate. Just feels a little hollow and not int eh best condition.

Lovely. Obviously Riesling. A tad hollow in the middle if I were to split hairs. Still hugely enjoyable.

Extremely well balanced wine with exactly the right combination of a developed wine with good acidity and lots of life left.
