I was intrigued to try this 93-point Suckling entry level wine from Brancaia. It's a decent wine, dominated by red fruits, cranberry, apple spice, plums, orange peel. It's a vibrant, fresh wine, with lots of acidity, but lacking some of the mouth-coating tannin, I would have expected. But for a wine that was only aged briefly in tonneau and concrete, it's somewhat expected. Good wine overall, but there is a lot of competition at this price point. Some of the tartness was too overpowering, and would have preferred more blue fruited notes.
