I've had various vintages of Ch Cissac, at various stages of development, and this is certainly the most pleasurable. Mature, but with no sense of decay, and lots of flesh still on the bones. Delicate aromas of cassis and cedar, a sprightly finish. Not a stunning wine, but a very good one, at an excellent stage of development. Cork.

Fully mature and possibly starting on the downhill path to oblivion. Still a good glass of classic aged Bordeaux with power, yet balance, fruit, acidity and tannic, but in great harmony. Not a really great wine, bu very enjoyable.

WES - Château Cissac (Imperial College London): Intense. Bright with little signs of ageing. Cassis with a hint of vegetal on the nose. Rich, sweet fruit. Dry with a surprising lightness but still intense.

Wine Education Service - Château Cissac Vertical (LSE): Just opaque showing plenty of age. Vrey inviting nose, lots of beautiful development notes overlaid with fruit. Drinking very well, loads of oaky spice, a wine of moment, good length.

On one hand you could call this a little insipid, on the other balanced and drinking really well, with a really enticing nose. I lean somewhat towards the latter, however this remains a relatively modest wine.
