True ruby with a maturing rim. Bold nose that has ripe fruit, meat and burnt orange. There is a lot of power here but enough zip to keep things together. Not elegant, yet still burgundy. When you are in the mood, give this a go. Not at the level I thought it would be based on the last tasting but a good wine. (91)

This was clearly riding the quality of Clos de la Roche fruit, but the vintage was showing. Very tertiary with almost no fruit left. Was not tired and still has some time left, but not as remarkable as I had hoped.

Wines Tasted at HDH Auction (Tru - Chicago IL): Ultra ripe fruit with the most faint spice hints. Very pleasurable today, but in a simple one dimensional way, certainly not showing any Clos de la Roche character. In fact I could easily have thought this wasn't from Burgundy if served blind, but that's mostly the ripe 2003 character.

Flat fruited with tired stewed oxidative cherry juice. Some secondary dried leaves and earth but overall disappointing for me.

I don't feel that this is over-ripe. Now with lovely soft fruit, but no rush to consume.
