  • Sadly, my last bottle. Gorgeously perfumed on the nose. A little less compelling on the palate, as the alcohol is starting to get more pronounced on the finish, but this is still a pleasure to drink, although if I had more, off this bottle, I would probably be thinking about drinking it sooner as opposed to later.

  • According to CT, I haven’t had a bottle of this in six years! And this is nice today, and a step up from the 2011 I just tried. The nose is a clear winner here, with deeper toned black and red fruit. This is also more substantial on the palate than the first wine. Mature, but it doesn’t feel tired.

  • Slow-oxed for 9 hours upon serving into Sy glass (“Root” into “Flower”): Pale garnet with ruby hues.

Horse sweat. Savoury spices. Secondary red cherry fruits.

Minerality that resembles seaweed / marina notes. Less integrated.

    93 points.

Second round: more ripe cherry fruits, savoury spices.

  • Decanted for about 3hrs. Pretty light in color but full of complex aromas and flavours! Compared to the Poggio that tasted few days before, this has airier aromatic, purer fruits and lighter roasted herbs character with perfume red flowers. Very elegant on the palate, a little more generous ripe fruits on the palate. Beautifully layers and defined. Tannin was so fine that it was hardly discernible. The purity and finesse is amazing.

  • PnP. Tannins resolved. Slight funk blows off after 15 mins or so. Oh boy this is magnificent. Perfectly integrated, elegant, Burgundian-style Sangiovese. Savoury with hints of cherry, coffee and tobacco on the nose. Richer on the palate than expected. Ready - and in a great spot now.
