From magnum. Higher dosage and a sweeter style. Light oxidative notes and a clear mustiness. Dry ginger on the nose. This bottle lacked the depth of similar style but better wines of the vintage.

Extraordinary intensity for a champagne this old. Very fresh with a good backbone of acidity and good sweetness to the lemony fruit. Mature flavors of yeasty bread, golden lemons and caramel. Superb complexity on the finish. Really, really impressive and still with a ways to go.

An Epic Vertical of Petrus (Ten Trinity Latour Club, London): Gorgeous mature nose of brioche and bakers yeast. Ultrafine bubbles and a beautiful spine of acidity. From magnum.
