  • What to expect from this bottle? It cost all of $11 way back when purchased. I kept this just to see an amber wine. And amber it is! The color is somewhere between brown and orange with it shading toward orange. The nose and palate are the same: creme brulee, slight orange, caramel and dried apricot .... and then it’s gone. No real fruit to speak of; no real finish either. The acidity is non-existent. It’s a wine of intellectual curiosity, but little else at this time. Yet, it was fun to try. 12% alc. With shrimp salad loaded with Old Bay. The pairing was better than expected with the wine as a foil to the spices in the salad. Recommended with reservations.

  • The colour is deep amber. This would worry me but the vendor had told me about this.
It's fantastically alive and fresh. Aromas of apricot, marmalade and a tiny hint of marzipan. The palate has the poise of an Olympic athlete. Incredibly clean and clear, creamy fruits. The final coup de grace is a tiny hint of bitterness on the finish.

  • It's very hard to score this wine as it's a style that I'm not familiar with. Deep amber colour, verging on orange. The nose had aromas of dried fruit and peel - oranges predominating. The palate had some residual sweetness as you would expect from a demi-sec however the acidity was so severe, I just couldn't drink it so bottle number 1 has gone down the sink. I have 2 bottles left and am thinking of returning them.

  • Intensely bright golden orange hue. Nose is very interesting. Strong scents of fresh grapefruit with hints of botrytis, honey and caramel. Weighty on the palate - huge acidity still and moderately sweet with a finishing note which is quite rancio in character and dry. Good length.

A lovely integrated nose. Creamy lanolin and lemon. Precise palate with lovely concentration. Lots of fresh citrus flavours back up with a fairly rich spine.
