Wine samples from J. Drank in Grassl Cru. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of minerals, blood orange, red cherries, faint whiffs of iron, and a bit of nicely ripe stem. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, super-fine medium- tannins, medium body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet sandalwood, lots of stony minerality, elegant red cherries, tangy blood orange, sour red cherries, stemmy spice. Long finish with intermittent signs of haemoglobin blood and iron. Very good quality. Finely etched and feels transparent and yet has a little bit of austerity at the moment. Will need time to reveal its susbstance. Not like you imagine a Rugiens to be, but somehow I still like it, and it leaves me thinking about it long after I finished my last sip. Would like to try this again in another 2-3 years' time.

Burgundy Grand Cru with either first or last name with initial A, B, F, G, H, R and T: Still youthful and not in drinking window yet. Medium nose intensity with notes of red fruits, red cherry, strawberry. Medium+ acidity and medium tannin. Medium+ finish. Will improve with ageing.

Doesn't taste like what you'd expect of Pommard, quite elegant and attractive. 67% whole bunch.
