Deep brick red. Aromas of leather, wet grass, roasted red pepper, aniseed, ripe plum and wet stone. Medium body. Beautiful finely grained tannins. Blackcurrant acids and cranberry bitterness. Palate of sandalwood, prune, black olive, lavender, thyme, cherry kernel and baked earth. A mature, rather dry and structure-driven pinot with dark fading fruit, lovely perfume and a mineral finish. Drink within 7-8 years. Tasted 2023.

2.5 hour decant. No sediment. Darker fruits with flower petals and a touch of funk on the nose. On the palate, a lush and slightly dense yet mineral-filled elegant Burg. Black and red cherries. Some vanilla Oak.

Very profound and complex nose, dark nearly black color.
Taste is deep, dark and very GC. Initially short on aftertaste - after 1 hour it gained on complexity and length. Somehow in open window now, if you can ever say this with 2005 and Dygat Py.

This was hitting on all cylinders right out of the gate. A huge Burgundian nose seemed to leap out of the glass when first opened. Drinking well now but has many more years of life ahead.

Dinner with Dan H (Provence Restaurant, Albany, NY): [Pop n pour.] On first opening: Big stinky reductive nose. Some green tannins in te mouth. Smoky and simple. An hour later: Quite different. Appealing cherry and merde nose.Thick and rich in the mouth. The tannins are softer and more appealing. Needs a lot more time. Really impressive for a village wine. 93-??
