Drinks lovely but it smells like and aged right bank bordeaux, what's the point in creating a bdx from sangiovese, i can't smell or taste sangio here. It is nice though ;)

Delicious, delicious, delicious! I had no idea that 22 years old Chianti could be still alive and well. Sweet aromas of black cherry, plum, milk chocolate, but also cedar, tobacco, and flowers. All aromas are soft, but easily detect and in perfect balance. Milky texture! Let me emphasize very important thing: acidity and tannins are in full harmony between each other and between flavors! They are soft but visible ( mostly in the end). Flavors: milk chocolate, plum, blackberry, coffee ( wow!), black cherry. Hello wine! Give me some spice and I will give you 5.0. As you see the taste is on sweet side, but is not overloaded, because all fruits are fresh and juicy. Finish - medium with nice red fruits.

The cork was in perfect condition and there was a very high fill in the bottle. Good red colour showing modest signs of it's 19 plus years since the harvest. Had softened with time compared to earlier bottles (this is the last one). Very appealing modest bouquet and enjoyable earthy flavours. Medium weight. Had retained enough tannin to be a fine companion to our quite rich pasta and veal dishes. Overall a very enjoyable wine.

Well past prime but still definitely a great Tuscan red. Long decanting needed to let it recover from years of aging. This bottle had a less than perfect cork ... I believe better preserved ones would yield 92+ experience.
