I opened this (minimally) one year too soon, so I prepared accordingly:

PLEASE, DECANT THIS WINE if you want all it has to offer before 2025-2026.

After the first hour, the nose had really opened up: floral notes, ripe cherries, and green pepper. The fruit hadn’t really sprung through on the palate, but there was a great mixture of white pepper, graphite, and allspice.

After hour two, the red fruit (red currant, cherries, dull strawberries) began to come through. The tannins had smoothed out, but were still present and complemented the wine really nicely.

Probably not comparable to the 2021 or 2022, but a solid vintage nonetheless and with room to improve another 2-4 points in a few years.

  • A bit rank at first blush, but then you swirl and it’s pure Tempranillo, cherry, dried tomato, fig, leather, and iron, with a little puff of oak. The tannins are still quite grippy, and there’s a real slug of iron on the palate. Is this too young? Time lends complexity – licorice, mulberry, coffee, dark chocolate, gummy bear. First sip, I didn’t get the hype. Then it unfurls like a flower, and the tannins soften a bit. End of the glass, yeah I’m on board.

  • med light body . 14% Alcohol
    heavy tannin on first opening.
Tasted over a few days fruit held up and tannins mellowed leading me to recommend leaving it in the cellar for several years.
Notes over the course of lasting:
    Medium ruby color
Nose- New oak, spearmint, “red jolly rancher”, cherry, violet, burnt marshmallow
Palate- red fruit, cocoa, spice, hints of meat( in a good way) very tannic on finish
Over all I think this will be in the low 90’s with age but currently it is too young in it’s current form I’d give ithigh 80’s

  • Chasing Rabbits Vail

This was a fantastic value play on a list that had some overprice gems. Not over oaked and paired with most items on the table.

    A real crowd pleaser.
