At charity tasting…Penfold table, wine #4 $65. Somewhat smooth, red fruit, step(s) above the Max tasted, but nothing memorable and not fully together yet, few years should help.

Dark purple, nose of red berry. Medium body with beautiful balance showing bright, expressive red fruits and a perfectly balanced structure with firm tannins, ample acidity, and a lengthy finish. Fantastic

Tasted blind. Lighter in color than other Penfolds wines at this tasting. Juicy red berries and candied cherry accompany trademark pyrazine/bell pepper flavors from the grape and eucalyptus from the Coonawara. Finish fades a bit too soon for my liking. Subtle elegance in this. Feels the least influenced by oak.

Pop and poured. Drinking nicely now, particularly after a few hours. Not over oaked. Looking forward to seeing how it is next year.
