50 Montepulciano, 50 Sangiovese. Jammy fruit - raspberry, black cherry, bubblegum, dried green herbs, cocoa powder/chocolate and powdered spices. Full bodied - a brawny young wine and definitely from a warmer cliamte. Great QPR, and a great pairing with squab giblets risotto. A dish that needs a full bodied brawny wine indeed.

Dense purple in colour. The nose begins with some not particularly edifying confected/banana/bubblegum aromas not dissimilar to a Beaujolais. These never entirely dissipate but with air are matched by a macerated berries and liquorice. A mass of powdery tannins is evident straight away on the palate, but is followed by plenty of juicy blackberry and black cherry fruit, with a hint of pepper on the finish. This is unwooded. It's juicy and succulent and good value.

An equal blend of Montepulciano & Sangiovese.
Dark fruits, earthy, dusty soil, dense and a little chewy.

A good generic wine, nice dark fruit, nothing to fault it but also little to remember it by. Good though 88
