Still drinking quite well for a nearly 20-year old St Joe; Spicy red fruits and some savory hints of pepper and charred meat; The upfront fruit on the palate still has a bit of a glossy veneer in the Guigal style, although age has certainly toned it down; The fruit does fade somewhat on the mid-palate, suggesting this is likely slightly past its peak

Round, expressive, lots of garrigue, mature and well balanced; while not a memorable blockbuster, this is a more than decent example of a well polished saint-joseph from a wonderful vintage. Drink up. #tasting#Amalievej

Tart, muted nose; nothing there really. Could have been corked but the cork looked fine. Disapointed.
