So I bought a cellar; 11/12/2022-12/31/2030: I had low expectations coming in. My only experience with this chateau was with a 1981, which was well past its drinking age. This one, however, was good. Pulled the cork and filtered into a decanter. So not too much air. Complex, no. Low tannins, and at first tasted like an old wine. Light cardboard. But that blew off, and the fruit showed itself. So fruit prevalent, but not overly complex. No tannins, low acid, older fruit, and relatively short finish. Good, not great, but still holding on.

Wine evening (Restaurant Krietsch, Schwäbisch Gmünd): Popped and poured. Did not take much notes on this wine, because compared to the amazing 1955 it was simply boring. Good for sure, but nothing special. Probably around 88-90.

Post-Tasting Bordeaux and Stag's Leap Dinner (Portofino - Chicago IL): Exactly as you would hope. Ripe, fleshy and fun with cigarbox and roasted meat. Not supe complex, but so easy to enjoy right now.
