Awesome, beautiful example of what Chile can do with this varietal - Dark, extreme concentration with notes of plum, cherry, cedar and vanilla on the nose, very well structured and balanced, the tannins are really smoothing out, but still plenty of life, smooth on the palate with long length (91 Points).

Somewhat complex nose, medium palate with a slightly tart finish. My wife and I stayed at this winery in Chile in 2008, toured the cellar and tasted nearly all the varietals and definately the cabernet is their best. This merlot is ok but not their best product. A good wine for a simple dinner, nothing special.

Deep, dark red color. The nose had aromas of black cherry, raspberry, boisenberry, cedar, tobacco, leather, and burnt toast. There were initial notes of manure and hay on the palate, but those quickly faded. These were replaced by flavors of bright fruit, spice, and tobacco, along with a hint of cocoa. Firm tannins, lively acidity. Finish of spice, chocolate, black cherry, barnyard, and oak. We felt it was more of an Old World style wine.

Fabulous Chilean Merlot, this should be double in price in comparison to other wines of similar quality, it's that good - Dark purple, almost black, with very strong notes of plum, spice and vanilla oak, fabulous concentration, yet nicely balanced, strong tannic structure (still a baby really), with an excellent finish, good stuff!! (91 Points).
