A quick double decant for sediment then drunk over few hours.
Roasted rare meat, olive, pepper, a little violet, and a mix of red and dark syrah fruit. Midweighted for syrah with excellent palate presence. It has breadth and depth with savory more than fruit driven notes and a stony-mineral streak. More red and dark fruits, leather, meat and olives on the palate with the olive and meaty notes more in the fore. This has a sense of balance I really like, and a real sense of place. If one wanted to show someone what well made, aged, honest Cornas tastes like, this would pretty much fit the bill. The tannins are nearly fully resolved, and the fruit is more alive than my last bottle a couple months back. Quite long on the back end. At peak for me, but no reason to wait. I do not see this improving from here. Outstanding.

Roasted rare meat, iodine, dark fruits and leather on the nose. It's mid weighted and savory on the palate with more rare meat, black fruits, pepper, heme, and oddly almost Bordeaux like tobacco and cedar notes. There are some drying tannins on the back end. I think this is fading some, but still very good.

BYO Blind Tasting and Dinner (House of Nanda - Chicago IL): Tasted double blind. Great aromas combine fruit, floral and spice perfectly. Pale color and fully mature flavors made me think this 5+ years older. But charming red and black cherry with soft tannins and overall harmony. Don't cellar further.

Pronouced perfume, showing its age nicely. And still the vegetal note of Clape. Very distinctive of the Cornas that I have had. The Violet, vegetal note. And on the palate still a little tight, not quite opened. Does it have the fruit to age? Does it have the fruit to age? Does it need it? The violet and vegetal. Clape signature?

Confraria - Cote Rotie (Casa do Jan): Surpreendeu pela grande elegancia. Corpo leve a medio, com maravilhosa acidez. Longa persistencia. Vontade de continuar tomando
