Deep tawny colour and opaque. Forward nose of medium red and black fruit and earthy complexity. Really had to search for the roses and truffles. Palate was silky, smooth and balanced; tannins barely present, very fine and ripe. Long finish. At its peak but likely good for several years yet.

I opened this 2 hours before dinner with out decanting. So day one it was a bit closed and un expressive but it was pretty obvious that something special was lurking about.
Day 2 one of the most beautiful multi dimensional barolos I’ve ever had. Deep tar and liquorish earthy notes which grounded the wine and at the same time lovely amazing elegant fruit and minerals that lifted the wine to a place that was so special. Comparable to grand cru burgundy. The nose palette and length were perfectly in harmony. Within all of this complexity my wife also noted a hint of flowers like roses. I was struck by the impression of a wine that is both masculine and feminine at the same time. But beware if we had not waited to enjoy 2/3rds of the bottle on day two we would surely have missed out

Good, but not really to my palate preferences these days. ~ 3 hours in wide bottom decanter; avg sediment. The chocolate of its youth has integrated, though there's not nearly the complexity that I'd wanted. That said, the red/dark red fruits show avg balance, depth and length, with good soil notes appearing here and there to keep it a bit lively/interesting. Guests enjoyed it, so it was a win of sorts. For the style and vintage, it's recommended. Should hold at this level for a few more years, no worries.

Drinking beautifully after having been open/decanted a few hours prior. Pencil lead/saddle/dark cherry fruit. Lovely mouthfeel.
